I have used fire tv 4k max which went dead in 1 year.. I have used Old Chromecast as well.. but this Chromecast 4k is superb.. better picture quality than fire tv 4k and 300% better sound output than firetv 4k.. also the UI is smooth and the algorithm set to chose a movie is the biggest plus point as well.. firetv just recommends movie from prime, but Chromecast recommend without any bais from all the apps you have that too as per you watching style just go for it..

Finally after all the hassle of replacement, I got my product today on 27th May, 2024. I’m happy and satisfied with my Google Chromecast TV. It works the best and the best part?? It is gonna get Android 14 TV

Pros:
1. UI is smooth and intuitive
2. No lag under multiple apps usage and switching
3. Remote is very handy and you can control TV, external speakers, etc with that single remote only
4. No seperate installation required to switch from one TV to another TV / monitor. (Only one time setup required when used for first time after purchase)
5. Comes with USB type C, so you can extend the storage or connect external wired speakers or play some audio/video from hdd/pendrive.
6. You can install third party apps here also (just like fire tv stick n others), hence no downside from that pov, though not recommended by Google.
7. A well tested product (was launched in USA back in 2020), hence you will find good troubleshooting/solution videos on internet if you encounter any.
Cons:
1. Only available in single colour, that too white (gets dirty very easily)
2. The type C adaptor needs to be connected to direct supply only. Won’t work/give errors if connected to USB port of the TV /monitor
3. A little costly (compared to it’s competitors), but considering the pros, makes sense.

I have an Apple TV 4K 2021 (2nd gen), I still bought this product only for HDR10+ support. It works flawlessly, hope we will get Android 12 or 13 on this.

Far better than other brands’ interface. Buttery smooth. You can also tweak using Developer Option in Android System and it make is 2-3 times faster. Not so value for money (US Price below 4K) but still after 2 years of) launch works like a Charm. Superb

Very intuitive UI. Supports all the top apps and suggests recommendation. Watchlist function is great as i can add movies right from the Google search on browser. Space is bit low and feel will fill up in sometime
Remote is very compact and easy to use and love that it can act as the only remote
PS: I have micromax tv and to pair remote i selected TCL. only then power and volume work

The product is good. Not faster than my fire tv 4kmax though .
The UI is smooth and lag free. Updated to Android 12 recently and works like charm.
Netflix, Primevideo supporting Dolby vision plus Dolby Atmos .
Color reproduction is good. Adapter is 7.5watt so you cant use TV USB which is usually 5 watt .
All the apps available, plus new apps come very fast. That’s advantage of android ecosystem. USB C
Few issues with device :
1) Remote is flimsy , and doesn’t have any weight to it . Doesn’t feel premium at all. Plastic is good and soft tough but still doesn’t feel 6.5k device remote.
2) White remote started to get dirty . Should include a cover or bring more color options.
3) Disney + Hotstar doesn’t play Dolby ATMOS on this device , drops to dolby digital plus. On fire tv max, it play in Atmos
4) Volume button on sides is totally useless, very difficult to use.
Overall , its a decent 4k streaming device. However i end up using my fire tv 4k max more than this due to all apps supporting dolby atmos and Live TV guide/ feature to manage live channels of sony , voot , zee etc .

Much needed upgrade from Google. Works fine. Protip – donot install the battery in the remote first. Start the setup by plugging the Chromecast when prompted for the remote comes on the tv then only install the battery in the remote.it will pair instantly.
