Bame Nonglait –
I love my new laptop. It’s so easy to carry to work as it fits inside my bag and I can carry it around without lugging my big laptop bag. Battery is good and its efficient since Windows is in built, which is perfect for presentations. However, downside is the storage. Hard disk and RAM should be increased.

wonderful product, value for money. But performance is not good it’s very poor. Quality products in bugget friendly price but working is not smooth. over all it’s an average if u don’t need do fast work & multitasking. I will suggest to buy for students because it’s can carry with u for doing everything. design is awesome and built quality is good.
I m happy with it but not satisfied from it’s performance.

I deal with different types of laptops due to my professional needs, three of them are mine rest others’.
This Laptop, in one line, is superb deal, has superb capabilities, and Acer has provided an excellent pricing.
A few reasons why you should buy it:
1. Professionals like us mostly use softwares like ms Word, Excel, PowerPoint, check email, some programming softwares like bluej, NetBeans and always some entertainment in form of movies, Netflix, YouTube. So the processor Pentium N5000(8th generation) is enough, it’s good for multitasking. In fact it’s only 25% less efficient than i3 7130u. Processors like i3, i5 are overkill(it’s like sending an army to catch a cat) for these tasks. laptops with these processors cost 10k to 20k more. I have multitasked it heavily with online songs, working with email, other websites in multiple tabs, then working in an excel file, I have not faced any lag. To play a 1080p movie it’s cpu usage was 14 to 18%, GPU was 7%, disk usage 4% to 10%, ram 2.8 out of 3.8gb using VLC media player.
2. Display resolution 1366×768 is enough for a 11.6 inch. Display is clear, bright, but reflective. Touch works good. I have applied an anti-glare screen guard which has solved the problem of reflection. In fact 1366×768 has half no of pixels than 1920×1080 so the processor and GPU unit have to work less, this increases its processor’s efficiency to the level of i3 processors. 11.6 inch is good for working, you can concentrate more, also easy to use in cramed places.
3. Battery backup is good, used WiFi all the time, watched YouTube videos, worked in Excel and did a few programs. Updated windows and downloaded drivers, I got 7hrs of usage in better battery mode. If we use best performance mode, battery backup is 5hours and 30mins with heavy usage like hosting video conferencing with a word, excel and some images opened to present during the video conferencing. Standby in sleep mode not so good, loses 2% per 30minutes. It takes 2.5hours to full charge from zero. Battery is 36Wh, 4670mah, 7.7V Li-ion. Intel Pentium N5000 is a 6W processor, whereas i3, i5 U-series processors are 15W. So power usage is 2.5 times less in N5000. I have watched a 2hr 31mins 1080p movie with lowest brightness(as the room was dark) using headphones in VLC media player,in aeroplane mode ie WiFi and bluetooth off, in better battery mode, only 17% of battery was drained. A small tip to increase battery life is never drain your battery to zero or never charge it to 100% keep in between 15% to 85%. Try not to use the laptop while charging, use it in battery mode, maybe you cannot help it sometimes.
4. Keyboard is good according to its price, key presses are pleasurable, size of keys are good and has spaces in between them. No numpad, so a few key also acts like numpad, image added. (Home and page up),(End and pagedown) shares a single button, this layout is not usual, creates problem while using keyboard shortcuts. It’s not backlit, no dedicated light for caps lock and num lock.
5. Touchpad is smooth, button less click at bottom of pad. It’s a precision touchpad. It supports geatures of scroll, zoom, etc. I have a lenovo laptop which costs 45000/-. Acer has a better touchpad than my lenovo. size is also big.
6. Tablet mode works fine.
7. Speakers are good enough for personal use indoors, don’t expect them to be loud. They are just above the keyboard and fires the sound towards the ceiling, so sound is not muffled.
8. No heating issues, heats up very little after 4hrs of continuous usage. It’s a fanless laptop so no vent for air passage, so less chance of dust sucked in.
9. Booting time is around two minutes, which I think is normal for a laptop with HDD storage and Pentium processor. One kind request to all readers, please don’t compare it’s boot time with an i3 or i5 laptop with SSD storage, they are way too pricey and costs around 30000/- to 60000/-.
10. Please do a market research, at this price point you will not find a laptop with Intel Pentium n5000 processor or any other processor with similar capabilities, touch and 360 degree fold is also not available at this price point. Only near competitors are asus E203nah which has a far inferior processor and comes with 2GB ram and there is no touch or fold. iBall has a similar laptop but with Intel n4200 processor which is a previous generation of Intel n5000, built quality of iBall laptop is not upto the mark.. hp has a laptop with same specifications, n5000 processor, touch and fold, but it costs 35000/- rupees.
Few Information:
1. Update windows to latest 1903 version(windows 10 home is original).
don’t use windows update settings as it will first update 1803 to its fullest then again you need to update to 1903.
From Google download .exe for 1903 update then proceed. Download of 5.2GB for update required, it took 4hrs approx. Dear readers and fellow buyers please update it as performance increases drastically after the update, I guess many reviewers who are complaining about poor performance have not done the update, my earnest request to all, please do update it to enjoy better performance.
2. register to Acer website then download device drivers.
total size 537mb.(I have installed none as windows 10 default drivers are enough, it also keeps your PC light)
3. Ms office pre-installed, but no licence, I had one so using the same.
3. Norton antivirus is pre-installed,trial version though.
You don’t need any other antivirus as Windows 10 defender is very efficient now a days, it ranks in top 10 antivirus, please refer to online reviews.
4. My hard-disk produces a low humming sound when working for hours.
5. length of charger is 7.5 feet approx, it’s light.
6. It has a micro-sd card reader, image provided.
7. One usb3.0, one usb2.0, one hdmi, one microsd card reader, one 3.5mm audio combo jack. Ports are a little bit tight, inserting pendrives and headphones are not smooth, maybe it’s an effect of cost cutting. Power button is on the right side beside the 3.5mm jack, it’s small so no chance of accidental press.
8. No dedicated light for caps lock and num lock, it is irritating sometimes. Three lights are there, one white light as an indicator of power, a green light beside the webcam to indicate it’s on and a red light glows when laptop is charging.
9. Body is full plastic(very good quality but not that premium), it’s black in colour and has a matt finish approach. My personal feelings is to buy a laptop sleeve so that it’s body is well protected from bumps and shocks while carrying it outdoors.
10. My opinion on the product is it’s good, affordable, handy. If you have a bulky laptop or desktop at home it’s a good carrying companion as a secondary option. But this laptop shouldn’t be the primary one(for a few) as you cannot run heavy softwares (e.g. photoshop, Oracle) smoothly in it. It’s best for office work and students can use it in college and school. But it’s also true that this laptop will serve all purposes well to 90% of Indian households.
Final Verdict:
best buy, as how much you invest in a laptop, it lasts for 4-5years max. so investment of 16353/-(Big billion day price with 10% debit card discount) is fair as it’s only 4000/- a year approx. I am happy with this acer and it encouraged me to write a 1.5hr long review. Thank you all and thank you flipkart for such an awesome product at such an amazing price…
