Avinaba Dalal –
TLWR;
It’s a performance oriented RTX 3060 laptop with an awesome display, which can give incredible battery life if you want.
Below is my experience after using this laptop for almost 2 months.
PERFORMANCE
My previous laptop has 8th gen Intel i7, and based on the workload that I would typically do (full release build of an Android app), this 6800H seemed to complete it twice as fast as my previous laptop, so no complaints.
GPU
This laptop has probably the most powerful variation of RTX 3060 Laptop GPU with a TGP of 115W along with 25W dynamic boost, so a total of 140W. Now, many people have claimed that this 140W TGP is a hoax as it does not draw more than 115W. But the truth is, it is not the case. This GPU will draw 140W (139W is the max that I have seen, which is OK) given that the CPU is not drawing more power. This is more prevalent when we are playing at 2k resolution or at 1080p highest settings. However, in CPU intensive games like FC5 it did not boost past 115W as the CPU was always drawing 40+ W. Also if you connect an external monitor (which makes no sense as this has a MUX switch and an awesome display unless the external monitor is ridiculously great), I have observed that the CPU draws a bit more power which does not let the GPU boost.
GAMING PERFORMANCE
This thing can easily do gaming at 2k resolution at 60+ fps or 1080p gaming at 120fps at high/ultra settings. For example, I get 80-90fps avg in Forza Horizon 5 at 2k ultra settings, pretty awesome right? Far Cry 5 – Around 90fps at 2k High settings and 50-60fps at high settings with DLSS+RT in Cyberpunk.
THERMALS
I am that kind of person who gets uncomfortable when temperatures go past 80C, but based on feedback from many people and reviewers it seems ok for laptops to run at high temperatures. This laptop will also run at high temperatures but it doesn’t seem to thermal throttle, and will give sustained peak performance. The GPU will go up to 81C at 115W and 86C at 140W and the CPU will go 90+ C if it draws more than 45W power, but they don’t exceed their thermal limits (87C for GPU and 95C for CPU), hence giving sustained, possibly max performance. This is in turbo mode, without any cooling pad and in a not so cool room. Only time will tell if these high temperatures are actually harmful to the hardware or not.
BATTERY
When the discreet GPU is enabled (standard or ultimate mode in Armory crate), it gives battery performance like any other gaming laptop – around 2-2.5hrs. However, you can get some insane battery life if you use eco mode (where the RTX 3060 is plugged off) in silent mode. For example, I watched a full football match (1hr 45 mins including half time break) in this setup, and it only went from 100% to 88%, so I think it can easily give more than 5hrs. Performance wise, it’s fine in this setup although the screen refresh does drop to 60hz which can be increased to 165hz if you want. Doing this will only slightly decrease the battery life.
DISPLAY
Display is just awesome, it feels incredible when I play 2k games on this screen. I am no expert in color accuracy but it is rated as 100% DCI-P3 so maybe that’s why it looks and feels so good. Outdoors, however I am not sure as I never used it outside. It supports Dolby vision and supports HDR for streaming content but not gaming.
OTHERS
1. There is no webcam present in the laptop. But we do get a 1080p USB camera bundled, whose quality is so much better than the typical 720p webcams.
2. We get 1TB SSD with this, but the read write speeds are 3GB/s, which are like PCIe gen 3 speeds. The sticker does mention gen 4 SSD but going by the speeds it looks like it doesn’t get one.
3. Speakers are good enough, not as loud as my previous laptop (which had really loud speakers) but has great quality and clarity. It supports Dolby Atmos. Combined 3.5mm audio jack is great.
4. Port selection is fine but it only has 2 USB ports which could be less for some people.
THOUGHTS
The price of this laptop definitely is on the higher side (which is why it might not be a good idea to look at this laptop when its price is over 1.4L), but you do get high quality hardware for what you are paying (except for the WLAN module which is of MediaTek, and I am not a big fan of MTK hardware, but so far wifi is fine). I had a poor experience with the TUF as I had returned a 2021 TUF F15 due to poor thermals despite having a much less powerful 3060 and 11th gen i5, which is why I went with ROG this time despite having cheaper similar specd TUF options, and so far I am satisfied.

Flipkart’s delivery was top notch, but packaging could have been better. The original brand packaging was very good. Open box delivery was a good thing. The laptop itself is very well built and till now performing very well. All standard applications, graphics designing softwares and R studio is running pretty well. COD Warzone is okay. The QHD display is excellent. Fan noise also quite contained. Battery life standard considering it to be a high performance gaming laptop. AMD 6800H and RTX 3060 a good combination. Separate webcam was also given inside the box.
