Allan Lewis –
We chose this hob to replace a faulty De Dietrich induction hob so were restricted to a 60 cm model and by the size of the cut-out on granite worktop. We also chose it because it is a 32 amp model and we did not want the extra expense of flexinduction as we rarely use more than 2 pans or very large pans due to much use of microwave and steam ovens.
Compared to 2 previous induction hobs it works favorably with lots of power and control available (17 levels plus boost on all rings) with timers available to shut down all rings independently if required. All the usual safety features seem to be there. All our existing “induction compatible” pans seem to work and the rings do not seem to be oversensitive to pan size.
It is a great hob but if we wanted to be picky then we would say that the controls are a little bit more difficult to use than the De Dietrich’s because the markings are less visible and need good light to see them, there are also less set points to go directly to (full and half power instead of 1/3. 2/3 & full) and they are a lot more hidden and only available when you first turn on.
In common with many hobs, it’s a bit difficult to find out exactly what size cut-out you need in the adverts and the installation manual, as you get 2 dimensions for the depth, each with tight tolerances quoted and it is difficult to see which applies! I was pleased to find out that it went into the smaller depth of 490mm. The width was unambiguous at 560mm. All with a tolerance -0 & +2mm.
The usual control difficulties occur if you spill water on the controls or try to operate it with wet fingers. It is a control issue, not a safety issue.
It can be connected to a number of different electrical supplies which include single phase and 3-phase but has clear diagrams in the manual and on the underside of the hob to guide your electrician.
The chirps and timer buzzers are a little loud but can be turned off if you find them annoying.
We like it do not be put off by the minor criticisms.

Bought this hob to replace a similar one which wasn’t working anymore. Quick delivery. Very easy to use. Heats up very fast. Would recommended

Too good… very smart… check the prices before buying…

Great hob, looks the part, works really well. Surprised it doesn’t clamp or seal to the worktop and just sits in gravity assisted

This works so well that it boils water faster than an electric kettle. Can’t believe how much more cooking control the inductor provides. The temperature responds much better than halogen. The only negative I have is that it is noisy.

Electric hob that behaves just like a gas hob but is easier to use and easier to clean and not as dangerous.
