I went on Amazon to buy new ink cartridges for my printer and among the OEM cartridges were generic ones with very attractive prices. I was very close to buying the generic ones…until I read customer reviews for them. Complaints about busted cartridges that leaked ink all along the inside of the bag they were in, cartridges not being recognized by the printer which rendered them useless. And even when they did work there’s complaints about printed images that simply didn’t look as good as when they were using OEM cartridges. If you want to take the risk of buying bad generic cartridges then go ahead. But me, I’d rather buy quality authentic Canon ink cartridges that I know will work.

The ink does cost more than is comfortable for me. However the XL size does help offset this. This is easy to install. Watch your fingers because the ink is hard to get off of your fingertips. The print results are great. This color is very popular so it runs out first.

We recently bought a new printer and changed brands from our decades-long HP loyalty
(which was never reciprocated) to a new Canon wireless printer.
The new printer takes the 271 Canon cartridges. They are super easy to pop in.
I LOVE that you don’t have to print out a new page every time you replace the ink,
which always wastes a lot of ink.
The photos from these inks is spectacular – you would never know they were off a home printer.
They are bright and color steady. Very happy with them.
They do get used a little faster than I’d like, so if you can, replace any original cartridges
with the XL size. I am not sure about the difference in the amount of ink, since the cartridges are solid black.
(Why won’t manufacturers just make them clear so we can actually SEE the ink that’s left?)
Anyway, a little costly, but I lovelove my Canon products. Glad I changed brands.
No regrets!
