I bought the larger cartridges because I had read that they last so much longer. However, after having used a couple of the more expensive cartridges (which cost 50% more than the PG-40) I am convinced they do not last 50% longer than the regular cartridges. In fact I saw very little difference. After examining the boxes, I realize that the larger cartridge only holds 22ml versus 16ml for the regular (37.5% more). It doesn’t even seem to last a third longer to me.
So I will purchase the regular cartridges from now on. Same print quality, but a better value.

Wish it were available more often at a special price, along with the CL-51 Color. Changing cartridges is not my favorite thing and these definitely last longer! I trust using Canon cartridges rather than refills, as my inexpensive Canon printer is in excellent form after a number of years!____________
This is several years later, after finding, on Amazon.com, a discontinued brand new printer exactly the same as the one that finally died after 8 years! I hope I can keep buying both the CL-51 and the PG-50 , both original Canon cartridges , preferably in a special offer for the pair, and have been very happy with both packaging and timing of purchases from Airela Company.

As I said, it works as it should. Not much else to say about a printer cartridge.

I always buy the Canon Ink works great in my printer with no problems but I usually
don’t leave reviews but this time I wanted to make a comment on the fast service
I got from a supplier from here. He sent me a letter in the mail to ask if I was
satisfied with my purchase and service and if there was any thing more he could do
just let him know. It was the “Tech Supply Company” and his name was “Jeff” and
here is my review I left him “A Very Polite and Fast Service Seller crosses all the T’s and Dot’s all the i’s.
In this day and age every body sends a E mail but not every one sends a regular letter any more.
So that is why I’m sending this review along.

Yes, I know it is a pain — once you buy a printer you need to buy a specific type of ink. But I’ve learned it never pays to buy the “as-good-as” inks because they never are as good as the manufacturers. At best they bleed into the paper and at worst they can damage your printer. Canon’s inks always work well. I have two Canon photo printers at the moment — one is over 16 years old and still working fine. I especially like their printers that have multiple ink cartridges so you only have to replace the colors you need. When used with good quality photo paper these inks give very professional results. Half-star removed for being a bit costly.
