I always use genuine new ink cartridges on my old faithful Canon printer. This is a quick easy way to get them.

The XL cartridges cost more than the regular ones but they really are a better value. My old MP250 only gets used for printing once or twice a month (a few pages at a time) and without any ink-saving settings I easily get a year out of each cartridge. With the regular cartridges I was changing out far more often.
I only take one star off because printer manufacturers charge way too much for this stuff 😉

The black cartridges I’ve always been able to buy locally were the high yield or XL versions (in an economical 3 pack, 2 black, one color), however the color were always the standard yield, needing to be replaced way too often compared to the black. This one is high yield at good price so I’m encouraged that it will last much longer.
P.S. I experimented at a big warehouse store with their cartridge refill service. The price was right, and though the cartridge worked, my Canon printer did not recognize that the cartridge had been refilled and continued to show the “low ink” warning light. Just saying.

It is Cannon ink, and I have never used any re-manufactured cartridges so nothing with which to compare. Given that, the price on Amazon has always been $3 to $5 less than the price at our local stores, and I don’t have to drive “to town” to get a new cartridge when I need it. I do not do a lot of printing, so the Cannon XL suits my needs quite well.
