Package arrived in very nice and sturdy packaging, appropriate for battery.
Battery is original. Manufacturerd by BYD for Dell.
Holds the charge as described in specs (checked).
Earlier the battery life was poor and was not giving more than 40min. Now, battery life increased substantially.
Laptop- Dell Inspiron 5000 Series

The battery was the right fit for my Dell inspiron I bought 6 years back. But, there was an issue I faced when replacing the battery. I had carelessly thrown away the battery cable along with my old battery and the new battery did not include a cable. I had to purchase the cable separately and wait until it was delivered. I expect there could be others like me who could do the same mistake, so it would be nice if a battery connecting cable is included along with the new battery.

Genuine Dell battery and runs like a new battery, the old battery was not charging after 3 years. When I unplugged it wouldn’t last for 1 minutes then the system warning comes up asking me to order new battery. This one looks like a reliable product to buy since it has the Dell logo on it and with a lot positive feedback. After installation, the battery is up and running, when unplugged can last for around 4.5 hours which is enough for my use. Would recommend this product as it’s same as description and reasonable cost. Hopefully can last for a while. Bought in July and not sure what happened with the battery after 5 month it still shows health in Dell battery manager lite, but stops at 67% and not charging in. The computer keep shutting down with the low battery sound when switching on. This is now another 6 months after the last edit, battery worked again and it was because the connection got detached inside the cover. So had to disassemble the laptop to get it wire up again.

Battery is not keeping up charge after 5 months. My laptop is very less used and not kept constantly on charge while using.

Arrived quickly and well packaged. Thanks to a review suggestion to watch a youtube video, it was easy enough to install, though opening up the back of the laptop after undoing all the screws was a bit of a tussle – and re-clipping all the lugs once the job was done was also not the easiest – but taking out the old battery and putting in the new one was the smoothest bit of the whole operation.
Can’t comment on the battery life, as it’s only been in a week or so, and most of the laptop’s time is spent plugged in to the mains, but no problems so far. Reviews have said it’s not genuine, but the wording and the logos on the replacement are identical to the one taken out.
