I had a Dell WD15 dock I’ve used for several years with my 3 year old XPS13. The last 6 months I spent trying to replace the Dell with a Surfacebook 2, a couple HP Spectre X360’s, and a couple Surface Pro 7’s. But all went back due to my issues with docks and the multimonitor setup I need at my office. None worked with the WD15. I picked up the Surface Dock 2 for the last Surface Pro I tried, and that had its own issues. I had a Wavlink for the HP’s, as well as a Belkin thunderbolt 3 dock, both had issues. So I decided to stick for now with my XPS13 and the old dock. But after all that testing, the old dock had issues with the displays being seen… So it was time to replace it.
I had hoped this would work just fine with my Dell, and for the most part, it does. The WD15 was rock solid with this, never an issue, but with this new one, I have had a few times I’ve had to power cycle the dock to get it to work again. Firmware is updated on it, but a few times when I plugged it in, I had no monitors, and a pop up warning on the computer saying that despite being plugged in my laptop wasn’t charging because there wasn’t enough power. Considering the size and output of the power supply, I found that a bit annoying.
But mostly it works, about 95% of the time.
There is a slight fan noise once in a while but it’s usually lost in the ambient noise of the office space here.
One of my favorite parts on it is the USB C power delivery cable, since it’s more flexible than just about any other dock I’ve had. So it bends around and I don’t have issues lining things up easily for where my laptop is positioned on the desk. Even the WD15 dock was a much stiffer cable and had to be in a specific spot so the cable would reach correctly where it had to go.
I’ve got one 4k monitor off the display port, and a 27″ QHD monitor off the HDMI. And other than a couple random points where they weren’t seen at plugin, they seem to be fine.
It’s a bit pricey compared to the alternatives, but after all the issues I’ve had messing with docks lately, I just wanted something that would let me use things again and not spend all my time troubleshooting like the Wavlink one I tried.

Dell Thunderbolt docking station works perfectly. Exact match to my employer supplied item in office. Needed one at home for my new Dell laptop which didn’t work with my old Dell docking station ( not a Thunderbolt). Received quickly but power supply useless due to cord included. Not useable for any power outlet. Fortunately I was able to use my prior Dell docking station cord. Otherwise this would have had to be returned.

Do not buy from the seller PRINCE IT WORLD. Complete waste of money. They will first ship a defected product, then make you wait for a week to first collect the item and then send the replacement. I have doubts if my replacement will work. but I can only hope.

I’ve always wanted a single cable solution. I purchased this dock for my brand new Dell Precision 5750 with a Xeon W-10885M CPU and 64Gb of DDR4 Registered memory and 2TB (1TB x 2 raid 0) nvme SSD and the NVidia Quadro RTX 3000 GPU. I use 3 x 3840 x 2160 monitors and thought that I could use this dock to drive the three displays and leverage my nVidia GPU. Didnt work. The HDMI Port detects the 4K monitor as a 2560 x 1440 monitor. It detects the other two monitors as 4K monitors, but only delivers 30Hz refresh rate which is crappy. I almost returned it, but then decided to take my Razer Core X with a Quadro P4000 GPU to the thunderbolt 3 port available on this dock. It worked!! I am now able to drive three displays at 3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz which is great for desktop use. Single cable. It also charges my laptop fairly well. So I decided to keep it. Other docks DO NOT charge the Precision 5750 or the XPS 17, as these laptops do require 130W from the dock to charge them. Having a Razer Core X stowed away behind my two Dell P317Q monitors and the (center) PHL BDM4350 monitor seems to work reasonably well. The P4000 is a great card for programmer use. I am disappointed with Dell for not delivering a single cable solution that can leverage the RTX 3000 through TB3, but I have a solution that works!!
This may not be the solution for everybody, but if you are wondering if you can daisy-chain a Razer Core X or another TB3 Graphics enclosure, that will work. Note that the Razer Core X has enough power to drive pretty large graphics cards. I also have a Razer Core V2 and while that worked, it resulted in some pretty strange USB behavior when I tried to use its USB ports. So your mileage with other TB3 eGPU enclosures may vary. The P4000 is a single-slot GPU which only uses about 150W of power. But My Razer Core X has worked well with other larger cards as well including an nVidia GTX 2080ti and Radeon Vega 64 (Mac use). Unfortunately, if you have a Quadro laptop, you can use an AMD GPU, but you cannot use the GTX gpu and the Quadro GPU together. For some reason, one of the GPUs have to be disabled and this results in some system instability. If you are using Quadro, stick to Quadro or AMD. If you are using GTX then stick to GTX and AMD. Back to the topic of this dock, I didn’t want the hassle of returning it as it is the only dock that gives me a single-cable solution and enables me to daisy-chain an eGPU, charge my laptop and connect my other peripherals. Working for me. YMMV.

Well, I hate to bring this information to you, but the attachments to your computer are once again being changed to be very small like the one for your cell phone and there are only 4 of them and a card aperture. So if you have the old popular flat connectors they will not fit with your new $4000 Dell Computer, which is a wonderful product with wonderful support and amazing features to customize to your own taste, but if you are like me, you are inundated with the old flat, long connectors who also need a home, and because of that need you need this docking station. Additionally, the docking station has a place for the Ethernet cable and some other accoutrements, not to mention that with my lap top will completely blackout if it connected for too long to the portable charger, which means that I have to hold down the start button for a count of 25 seconds and then call for Dell service intervention to reconfigure it, one must have a docking station if you want to make sure that you have a full charge all the time, until such time as you want to move it or take it with you elsewhere, because this docking station will meter the charge and not overcharge the computer to forestall the problem in the first place. This is the only Docking Station that can be used with my: Device name DESKTOP-6RVFLFK
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.8 GB usable)
Device ID 39DCDF24-C7A7-47D6-94BA-946E0F6CBA25
Product ID 00325-81991-28467-AAOEM
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch Touch support with 10 touch points
What I said right! So this is a Wonderful Must Have and I have all the plug-ins that I need and much more. If your computer requires this docking station, you won’t be disappointed.

I wanted to get this docking station since I purchased my i9 Dell XPS. I faced trouble to use only one HDMI port and then use an apple USB-C to HDMI converter cable to attach yet another screen. Then I had to find a port to attached my Focusrite microphone. Keyboard and mouse needed another port.
But with this docking station as the problem vanish in a go.
Nice product. Video Review and product use update will follow soon here.
