The filteration provided by this RO filter is pretty good and efficient. Works smoothly without issues or leakages. I’ve been monitoring the TDS of the filtered water and totally satisfied.

Cons: 1. Poor quality of electronic components; 2. Bad Service even in Tier 1 cities like Hyderabad; 3. Company’s India team don’t live up to the global image.
I bought the Faber Neutron Plus (10 litre) in October 22 trusting the brand name and impressed with the pricing. First, I recieved a defective unit – as the installation guy switched on to check the machine, purified water began to leak from the tank (don’t know if the storage tank had a crack or the inlet pipe wasn’t properly assembled). The service guy advised I should ask for a replacement. I sent a video of the leakage and requested replacement. Thanks to Amazon, I got a replacement in 5 days.
However, my joy was short-lived. After about 6 weeks, the indicator (blue light) for full-storage -tank was just constantly on even though the tank was empty. And because of this, the machine wasn’t turning on. Having no choice to ask for replacement, I called for service. Two guys came (probably a Sr technician and a trainee). They opened the back cover but had no Idea what was wrong. After fiddling with all the filters, they recognised it was a wiring/electronic problem. They pushed and pulled a wire for a few times until the machine responded. Then carefully put the cover back and went away. You guessed it, that ‘jugad’ stayed put for about 10 days befor the full-tank indicator stayed constantly on again. What’s more, the ‘Purification On’ indicator too has stopped working. The 2nd time when I called the service, DMed the Faber India team on Twitter etc, they didn’t respond for 5 days. Then, I got it locally looked into. They confirmed that the wiring/electronics connecting to the storage tank are faulty and need replacement. I now make sure that the purifier storage tank doesn’t get full. I set a timer for 15-20 mins when the tank is empty and turn off well before the electronic indicator can turn on.
It’s a bad experience with Faber India. If they didn’t turn up for service complaints, I can imagine what their response would be for replacement of wiring/electronic components.
AO Smith water purifiers are apparently far better in terms of ensuring thorough quality checks on the product assembly line. Faber’s India team needs to pull up their socks and start reviewing the QC standards (both internal and external supply chain).
If any Faber India team member is reading this, please escalate this to the concerned team.
