It’s a good one but on a premium price end now.
Updates:
I also have an iPhone 14 that I use alongside this device, here is the list of things which could have been better:
1. Speaker quality is lower than that of iPhone 14
2. Given the reputation of the pixel in the photos world, it seems like google is not making the most out of these new sensors yet. Hopefully they can improve more on the photos side too as I can see that there is a very good quality improvement on the video side but pixel videos still don’t outperform iPhone videos yet(got to see videoboost feature drop)
3. Heating issue, I don’t play games on this device but got to admit that thermal is not calibrated yet or it has some thermal management issues as doing normal usage of this device causes a warming effect which is not at all there in the iPhone 14.
4. No WiFi 7 hardware on Indian unit. US units have WiFi 7.
5. No call screening, car crash detection.
The reason to point these things out is, given the cost of this device it can’t get away with the basic things which can’t be ignored at this price point.
INDIAN units cost much more than the US unit whether or not considering bundle offer.
Be VERY SPECIFIC about what you expect if you are planning to buy this device.

I was using iphone 14 pro and after listening to iphone 15 pro complains I made my mind to switch to Android and finally my wait is really worth after getting this magical pixel 8 pro sound is superb display brightness and clarity is mind-blowing photos are just like dslr booked and more detailing . No lag and battery is also awesome .I’m really happy with a Android phone finally . Which never happened thanks Google waiting to try new ai features once it is rolled out. As I pre-ordered on the same day or launch I was expecting either earbud or watch they will give with pro model but didn’t get . Thanks anyways I just love it

I am using Pixel 4a for the past two years and just got it upgraded to 8 pro this week. I would say Google has really worked on the drawbacks they used to have and it almost paid off and I can easily say that Pixel 8 pro is meeting the expectations!! Especially the camera, it simply outperforms any other Premium phones. From the past two days of use I observed that the battery lasts for a whole day even if you use the camera so much. I need to see it furthermore after more using it for a long time. The only thing I doubt is it is priced a bit higher for the available 128 gb variants. Anyways, I can say it will not disappoint us in terms of cameras, performance look and feel etc,

I preordered it on the launch day and I was expecting to get the watch as they advertised on flipkart but didn’t get it.Which is a bit disappointing, apart from that the phone is very nice and waited a long time to get a pixel.

Have been a Google user ever since they launched the first HTC G1, G2 has been an HTC user and switched to Google, I still have Pixel 2XL and 6. Exchanged by Pixel 7 with Pixel 8 Pro.
The camera is great, I have an iPhone 13 and I feel the Pixel Camera is miles apart and I usually shoot using my DSLR; my Mobile was used only for wide angles, and I always shoot RAW. But the manual control and full RAW support at 50MP in Pixel 8 Pro gave much-needed control and comfort. But still not there yet and they removed my favorite feature Photosphere (which can be sideloaded by installing GCAM). Pictures are processed but shot on Pixel 8 Pro 50MP RAW
Screen – Good one, very bright vibrant
Battery – OK for a day but needs a charger at the end of the day, using a camera drains the battery faster
Software – Smooth, but sometimes becomes unresponsive and needs a restart
Face ID and Finger – This is where I have a problem, I have an iPad Pro and iPhone 13 and the face ID works like a charm. In Pixel 8 pro it is annoying neither the face ID works properly nor the fingerprint and after 2 failures I have to eventually enter the PIN, which is annoying (maybe should disable one, but what is the point if they do not work)
Network – I have both Airtel and Jio in Pixel 8 Pro. My iPad shows 5G on Airtel, but Pixel at times would only connect in LTE mode even though the 5G network is available in the location. So, I would get 90-100 Mbps on an iPad but only 10-15 Mbps on a Pixel 8 Pro. Same location same network

Loving it! Was worried a bit with negative reviews floating around! Thankfully all false alarms.
Display is gorgeous, Battery lasts me a day and a half, not had heating or network issues so far. Not a gamer so not worried about Tensor’s gaming performance.
Camera has been fantastic, both video and still pics are as expected from a Pixel. Can’t wait to try the new Video Boost feature.
Ex- Samsung user so I really feel the fluidity and animation difference between the two.
Most underrated feature is the haptics and accompanying sounds, they make the phone feel lively and not a dull slab of glass.
Got the 256 GB version, pretty sure 128 GB ain’t gonna last more than 1.5-2 yrs.
