I bought this laptop the first time on July 12th, it came July 14th, basically DOA. I packed it up, left a review, and sent it back, but I ultimately took a chance reordering the same laptop later that day because I still needed a new one. (I’m leaving the original review below.) The second laptop arrived about as quickly, but otherwise has been a completely different experience. Setup took about 2 minutes and it’s been smooth sailing ever since. It’s fast, which was my main concern and why I finally updated to an SSD. It does everything I want and need it to and it does it in about a fourth of the time my old laptop did. The battery is great, the screen is great, for all my purposes, web browsing, zoom meetings, and photo editing. I’m very pleased. I waited to update my review, but it’s been two months and I’m still quite happy with it. I’m willing to forgive the lemon that came first in light of Amazon’s quick and easy returns and since the replacement laptop is working out so well. I did not try to contact HP help, since the first one barely turned on at all and didn’t seem worth the hassle, and the replacement (knock on wood) hasn’t had any problems yet.
ORIGINAL REVIEW 7/14/2022:
Mostly DOA. I couldn’t even get through setup, signing into my wifi and all, before it crashed with a “:( We’re sorry, it looks like your computer ran into a problem and needs to restart.” …then it rebooted, asked me to choose my language (the start of setup again) and as soon as I chose US English it crashed back to that error message. After repeating that a few times it brought up a different screen saying I needed to download BIOS updates on a different computer and transfer it via flash drive, and it MIGHT fix the problem, unless it was a hardware issue. On a brand new, just pulled it out of the box and plugged it in laptop. From my perspective, even if that works to fix it now, if it is a hardware problem would it just be applying a bandaid that’s going to fall off the second it’s past the return window? Not worth the risk, imo. Now it isn’t even turning on at all, or rather, if you press the power button, the power light turns on, I can hear the fan, but the screen stays black, no error messages, no attempts at setup, nothing. I’ve already started my return (so annoying, even though amazon makes it pretty easy) and I’m now just debating whether to give this model another chance, hoping I got a dud (if I do, I will update this review with regards to the new machine) or to just give up and try a different brand.

My aging laptop gave up the ghost and I needed a replacement. I shopped around and found a machine that had all the specs that I could want. The price was also several hundred dollars less than I expected to pay. No backlit keyboard, but I never use my laptop in a poorly lighted environment. Windows 11 has a learning curve, but I’m eager to master it.

I spent a lot of time looking for the right laptop to replace my old one. I need a reasonable amount of RAM and at least 2TB of data storage, SSD.
No laptop manufacturer offered this combination. However, PCONLINE customizes HP 15ts with both 32GB RAM and 2TB SSD storage. So, I ordered one. It was delivered the next day. I have set it up and used it for several days now, and I love it. It is all that PCONLINE touted it out to be.

This is a replacement for a similar HP about 6 years old. This is really fast. The touch pad works flawlessly. The screen is vivid. The contrast on the keys is not good a little hard to see at an angle. I will add comments as I get some use. So far a 5 of 5.

Keyboard letters are not dark/bold and also keyboard backlight is not bright. Overall all other features and quality is good.
