I am a computer science major and I use this as my school computer. Nothing I do requires a ton of computing power and I don’t use it for gaming. 16gb of RAM will keep this thing relevant for a few more years to come and the 512gb SSD was the largest I could find at this price point.
I will rarely use the touch screen, but sometimes it feel nice to press the big green “build and run” button on IntelliJ.
Backlit keyboard is a handy feature, the audio is pretty good for a laptop. Super lightweight
Battery life goes pretty quick when I’m using it, but it lasted for 2 weeks idle before school started.
also appears to be a completely fresh installation of Windows 10, so you don’t have to worry about crapware and 20 different printer tool installed.
EDIT: I forgot to complain about the wifi originally, it would put up a fight about connecting to any network sometimes requiring a restart.
IF YOU HAVE THIS ISSUE: go to device manager>Network adapters and then update the two Realtek PCIE devices by right clicking on them. My laptop now immediately connects to wifi upon login.

The laptop I got with the touchpad is broken at the bottom left and it is not working properly. Also, at the base of the laptop there is a stripe. I already reported this on May 5 but I still do not receive a response or solution.
I want my money back or change for another laptop.
Thank you

The seller is unhelpful.
Buyer Beware
I have had this computer for 7 months.
Originally, I had someone at work vet this machine and they concluded that the stats were good, especially for the price. I have had my other laptop for 5 years and it is a bit slower and I am going to school again so I wanted something faster.
I didn’t this computer the HP pavillion very much, but it seemed easy enough to use. Once class started though and I downloaded Chrome and word, it started freezing. In the middle of writing documents, during searches, etc… it would only work for 10-20 min and then it would freeze and shutdown.
I contacted the seller through email and I didn’t get a response for 3 days. I was then told to do a “bio”. Since it is an outside seller, Amazon couldn’t help.
I reset the computer, still freezing. I reset it again, still freezing. I left it alone for several months because I was busy and customer service was not helpful. I tried writing them 2 other times, called. I waited on hold for 15 minutes and then the operating system told me that they could t take my call, I left a message. I have not received return emails or a return phone call.
You will receive no help from the seller. I have had the computer less than a year and the only thing that has temporarily work is deleting the few files I had on the computer and hard re-setting the computer twice. HP also has been too busy to help.
If you are computer savvy, you might not like this computer because you can’t open it up. If you are not computer savvy, expect no help.
Don’t take your chances. My old laptop is an Asus, it is slow after 5 years but I have been able to use it instead. Do your homework. I don’t Reccommend this computer or seller.

I’ve been using this laptop for over a year so I feel more confident in reviewing this product. Overall, it’s been alright – better than average for laptops in this price range ($500-750 bracket, I guess), but with a collection of small issues that altogether annoy me enough to knock off a star for sure.
Battery life: was seemingly fantastic at first, lasting lie 5 hours off-charge while I worked on word documents and such. Nowadays, I get perhaps 3 hours. Oh and another small pet peeve: as far as I can tell, there’s no way to have the computer tell you in time units how much battery life is (only %).
Fan: randomly gets really noisy! I’ll check Task Manager to see what the hell is making my fans work so hard but I’ve never found anything out of the ordinary. I got an air duster to try to clean the fans (thinking that maybe it was just dust buildup) and that led me to the next issue…
Opening the laptop: maybe I’m just dumb but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to open this laptop. So, no modding in anyway possible either.
However, the laptop doesn’t lag or freeze like some I’ve used in the past, run most games (with low-level graphics) pretty well, and can handle a lot of things being open at once (well, except the fan goes into overdrive, as mentioned earlier). And the touchscreen still works well. So, nothing huge to complain about.

Product is custom upgraded, and they did a fine job. It’s super-fast! Had a delivery issue due to Fedex damaging it in transit. Within a few days, I received my replacement and it’s in perfect, factory new shape.
I’ll gladly purchase from Portable World again! And no, I’m not a company shill. I’m just really happy 🙂
