Alles recht und schön, putzige Idee im Vergleich zu den “alten” Dockingstations, bei denen das Notebook noch einrastet und gehalten wird.
Aber jetzt das dicke Manko! Während die alten Docks HPs “erfindung” waren, 1 Port für “alles”, nutzt diese jetzt ein “universellen” Stecker – entweder USB3.1 od. Thunderbolt.
Und ich im guten Glauben, dass ich jetzt meine Home-Workstation nur mehr den Laptop am Dock austauschen muss – aber nein, da – nicht wie im Bild gezeigt – das “Input Ladekabel” steckbar ist, wie es jeder anständige Mensch machen würde, haben die es blind ins Gehäuse geführt.
Das heißt, das Input-Kabel ist nicht für 3rd-Party-Devices geeignet – entweder man besorgt sich noch eine “Thunderbolt Verlängerung” um den blöden Ladestecker loszuwerden oder es passt mit guten Willen oder Zufall.
Ich kann genau so gut meine Thunderbolt-displays direkt am USB-C port anstecken, hab ich effektiv das selbe ohne ein 200€ klotz.
Nochmal ein Minuspunkt gibt’s für den Stromstecker. Netzteil nett flach und relativ ansehnlich, aber das Ende das in das Dock führt braucht ca. 5cm raum nach hinten, deutlich mehr als sämtliche anderen Kabel – zudem noch störrischer zu legen aufgrund dessen Dicke.
Aber bei 200W wohlmöglich nicht viele genormte Alternativen.
Sollte man noch keine Dockingstation haben, jedoch wollen und ausschließlich aktuelle HP Lösungen besitzen, mag dies vielleicht Tragbar sein. Dennoch würde ich mir ein Steckbares Inputkabel wünschen.

I wanted this to connect two 4k 28″ Samsung panels to the laptop and make this HP Elitebook into a really usable work tool
Dock works fine but when you connect both 4k panels only one would show the 2160×3840 resolution the other would be 1080×1920 no matter what I did.
Then came across a forum post on the HP support site that mentions using a USB-C to DP cable
“make sure the usb-c to DP connection is done to the usb-c port marked as a Thunderbolt port (thunder w/arrow label)”
YOU MUST USE THE ThunderBolt marked port on the RIGHT of the two DisplayPort sockets and NOT the Left hand one marked with SS / DP ( as the dock is fairly small and difficult to see I have attached a picture here )
I used the Syntech USB C to DisplayPort Cable(4K@60Hz), Thunderbolt 3 to DisplayPort Cable which works perfectly, ( as pictured )

Cumple con su función, por el precio que ok compré (reacondicionado) está bien, pero .precio original es una locura.
De todas formas, objetivamente el producto es muy bueno, aunque un fallo grave me parece que el cable no se separa el USB c del otro.conector, por lo que tuve que hacer un apaño y separarlos a mano.
Otro gallo es que el cable de corriente es muy muy poco manejable, está muy tieso y dificulta el moverlo.

Very compact docking station with an ample number of sockets for connecting peripherals. It worked straight out of the box. As with most HP products the build quality is excellent.

El único problema que le veo es que el cable de conexión con el ordenador sale por un lateral (y es bastante rígido), la conexión de audio por otro y la de la pantalla , usb, etc. por otro, con lo que tienes cables conectados por todos lados en lugar de poder conectarlos todos por un solo lado.
