A trabajar!
Grandiosa para juegos, para diseño, para edición, etc. Yo lq uso para todo eso y hasta el momento no me ha quedado mal!

Overall a great machine. Great processor and plenty of RAM for the price.
Only downside is the usb-c with old technology that won’t charge or output video.

I have no complaints about performance, it’s a great laptop in virtually every way, save one–setting it up as a dual boot system. I’ve been running dual and triple boot systems for 18 or 19 years now, and never had a problem setting up a dual boot system until I did with this laptop. It’s hard to point the finger at HP when I suspect the problem is Windows 11, Ubuntu 22.04 or a combination of both, but it is the entire implementation of UEFI, Secure Boot, Fast Boot, Bitlocker, Windows, HP partitioning, and software signing that all works together like crap.

I’m not sure Ubuntu 22.04 had its cert signing in order as it was just released, but Windows 11 refuses to allow a boot entry addition, and I’ve tried about 7 or 8 different methods with results from an un-bootable machine to having to reinstall Ubuntu multiple times. This all stems from Microsoft requirements for certifying a laptop, of course. As it stands, I’m tapping my way through F9 > UEFI boot menu options, making 5 selections to get to a Grub menu for Ubuntu (my primary OS ) and it’s a real pain in the rear. I only use Windows for recording music, and the performance is great. Audio is great, built-in speakers are great, plenty of RAM, fast startups and shutdowns.

It handles multi-tasking and multiple browser tabs really well. I generally have browser 20-40 tabs open at any given time (sometimes more) in addition to running other applications. I’ve run several applications doing some pretty intensive work tasks at the same time, and it manages just fine.

Honestly, I feel that if I popped a new hard drive in and just installed any Linux distro and eliminated Windows from the equation, this would be as close to a perfect laptop as any. Alas, Linux is still a pain in the rear when it comes to audio, recording and software/driver support for audio interfaces–on top of manufacturer support for audio gear not even managing an afterthought in many cases.

Great laptop. If you like Windows you’ll love it. If you plan to dual boot, I wish you less trouble than I’ve had.

    UPDATE: 8/28/23

I thought I would do an update, particular with regards to the dual-boot use of the laptop. Ubuntu finally got their certificate signing in order and a BIOS update released since the original review made things much better. I still can’t get Windows boot loader to let me add Ubuntu to the list of Operating Systems, but since the GRUB bootloader loads first it’s working great for me now.

If I need to get into Windows, I just hit F9 and select it from the boot options.

Otherwise, it just boots right into Ubuntu Linux which is what I use for work and everything else, save music recording. Other Linux distros work well with this laptop and all perform very speedily.

At this point, I have zero complaints. I literally have 194 browser tabs open (crazy, I know–most are in tab groups, only about twenty are not currently) in Brave browser and still have 9.81 GiB of free RAM out of 16. I do pretty intensive stuff with virtualization and software builds/deployments and have lots of applications open, multitasking like crazy and only rarely does it bog down or lock up. I’m getting ready to add another 16GiB of RAM and doubt it will ever be a problem again.

I’ve had more expensive systems, but honestly, as light and thin as this thing is, with the performance, it’s hands down a better deal. I have no doubt that if I popped in a new SSD or just formatted Windows out of the equation entirely, it would be as close to perfect as you can get for a Linux user, short of having a company that supports Linux as your vendor and providing warranty service, etc. So, after more than a year of use, zero regrets on this purchase. If I were buying this today, especially with the big price drop since I purchased this over a year ago, I would give it five stars.
