We purchased this model in Aug 2016 and if someone would have asked for a review until June 2019 I would have given a 4 or 5 star rating.
Remember before buying a big appliance please check the brand service too and not just the product itself, and IFB is pretty bad in this department. This Dishwasher in itself is a very fine product. Does its Job properly and we were highly satisfied. Cleaning, Drying etc all were working as expected. There were no shortcomings in its working and those who purchased this and gave rating of 4-5 after 3-6 months or even 1 year usage are also correct.
But I will share you experiences of what can happen after warranty expires. Warranty for my Dishwasher expired in August 2018. In June 2019 the machine suddenly started giving F2 error. Doing basic search and going through the manual I found that this error is due to drainage issue. Raised a complaint and within 3 days an Engineer from IFB Came.
He first opened up the machine, then charged us Rs. 1800 for water filter that is placed on inlet (later I found that much cheaper alternatives are available online), then used 4-5 packets of descaler and said the problem is resolved now. He ran his special 10 min diagnostic program which was successful. According to him problem was scale build up in the pipes. Then he convinced us that machine is getting old and these kind of problem can come again and again so its better to buy an AMC. With AMC we can get discount in current bill, get parts replaced free of cost and even get a new dishwasher at 30-35% off.
We being naive and unaware of whats to come we took the AMC worth Rs. 4000 as were satisfied with how machine worked till now and wanted secure its future from any other problem. The very next day machine started giving F9 error. Again after some research I found that it is due to leakage issue, and I saw water leaking slowly from bottom. I checked the bottom of Dishwasher myself and found that the internal pipe/component connections were loose and water was leaking from there, on further investigation I found that the clip used to tighten pipe connection between components was missing and later I found it in my dustbin. Clearly the Engineer didn’t assemble the parts back properly and left it like that.
Again I called IFB and this time Engineer came after 5 days, I complained to him about previous engineer but there was no response. He fixed the loose pipe but told that the tub or the part that holds the water is damaged and need to be replaced and that is causing water leakage and F9 error. I wondered how this issue came suddenly, it was definitely damaged by 1st Engineer as I had no leakage or F9 before. Now comes another shock, the AMC I purchased can be used only after 40 days from date of purchase so its either wait for 40 days or pay another Rs. 4000 for the tub.
We waited for 40 days then called IFB Customer Care, they told they will send someone. After 5 days I got a call that they have ordered the part and need to wait 10 days more for it to arrive. Almost 15 days passed and finally they came. This time they replaced the tub and F9 error went away. They told one washer is missing and there can be minor leakage, they will replace the washer next day as they don’t have it now.
After they went I put dishwasher on a normal 1.5 hr cycle and the whole floor was wet, it was leaking severely, not a minor one that can be wiped easily. So even though there are no errors now we can’t practically use it. Also they broke the plastic frame that holds the inlet pipe and it is now just hanging without support, According to them that part is not covered in ACM and we have to pay separately for that.
Again I raised complain with IFB for leakage, and this time no one came. I get a call from IFB Goa weekly asking if any Engineer call or came and they will escalate the issue but I have lost all hope. I couldn’t find any link on their site to escalate the issue. Their site also looks more like Order Friendly and less Support Friendly. Even their FAQs cover all question related to Order and nothing for Support. Shows where the brand focus and loyalty is more. There is no proper way to raise a complaint and IFB Customer Care on call have no clue of what their engineers are doing. They will apologize and will say they will escalate but nothing will happen.
For almost 3 year I used this Dishwasher and Still I see they are selling the same model without any update or improvement, I think I will switch to another brand now like newer Dishwashers by LG, Even though if it means loosing that 30-35% discount Via AMC because I don’t want anything that is IFB. There is no trust, given that their product may be good but Service is too bad to invest.

I will start on a positive note so, the pros first:
1. Dishwasher doesn’t wort with Indian Utensils is a myth. It works wonderfully. Though there are some limitations (will mention in cons).
2. Saves a lot of time and energy and ofcourse has helped me keep my back pain null and mental peace from being dependent on a house maid.
3. Can be easily operated by any grown up. If the men in your house know how to operate a TV, they sure can take up managing this for you.
4. It not only cleans but also sanitizes the dishes due to the hot water being used. Very hygienic.
5. It has been bringing out the hidden dirt from the dishes that were being used and washed by the housemaids from years. Yet have never been so clean. I didn’t even know there was this level of ‘hidden dirt’ in them. Again very hygienic and will reduce general sickness
6. If planned well, accommodates the load of three time meals of a family of 3. Minus certain dishes that are not recommended to be used in the dishwasher.
Now to some cons, rather be wares:
1. Wooden ladles, and non sticks are not recommended. Even if added, they do clean but not that well. Be careful of the grade of plastic before placing them to avoid melting due to heat.
2. It is essential to place the dishes well and strategically to get the best out of the dishwasher. (More in Best practices)
3. Water consumption sure is probably more that regular. Yet to compare last month’s water bill to this month’s.
4. Over loading/ over stacking can leave you with some dishes not cleaned well as the water spray wouldn’t reach them.
Best Practices
1. Wash your dishes as and when they get used and place them in a tub. Do not load them directly into the dishwasher as it will be closed and the dirty dishes may begin to smell and dwell bacteria. Place all dishes into the washer just before washing
2. Use the side sections to put the cutlery instead of using the cutlery holder to save space and accommodate more dishes.
3. Once the dishes are done, leave them in the washer for sometime for the heat to subside and dry them completely.
4. After removing the dishes, I like to place them in an open dish basket for some time before setting them in their respective places in the cupboard.
Overall, I would give Dishwashers a 4.5 stars. IFB Neptune VX works greatly well for me, and as this is the only dishwasher i have used, the 4.5 would be applicable to this as well.
