The kettle is an example of poor product design. I bought it to replace the earlier plastic electric kettle. The purpose was to avoid heating drinking water in plastic.
However, the steel body surface gets heated with the water inside. An insulating layer would have made it safe for handling. Not fit for a congested kitchen. May cause burns / melt wire or any plastic material around it.
Lifting the kettle up from its base doesn’t auto – cut the switch. So if one empties it and places it back on its base, the coil shall start heating up again.
Black marks from the heating of coil can be seen at the base of the kettle after day 1 of use.
