It is probably a one of the few bad apples, but reflects badly on JBL. Received mine late in February 2023 but did not put it into any use until earlier in May. After several days of light use I’ve noticed it was garbling
the sound. Recharged it and tried again the next day – it seemed to work fine again, until it started emitting crackling / sputtering noise instead of the tune. Now it does that after a full (I think) charge. No actual indicator of a full charge, that I could find.
Where do I send it to get it fixed. It should still be under the factory warranty, I hope?
I am editing this review to add that a call to JBL Product Support resolved the issue. Talked to Paul and he guided me through a Factory Reset process, after which the problem seems to have been taken care of.

This speaker sounds great and is very portable being connected to Bluetooth. Being waterproof is a bonus for the unfortunate events that happen.

This is a compact BT speaker with (again) simply excellent sound. I’m using it with my laptop, as my old (cheaper and wired) speakers failed. I paired this with my laptop, turned on some music and (my exact thought) OMG! I was immediately impressed with the bass and sound in general. And just this one speaker blew my old, wired speakers way the hell out of the water. In addition, I grabbed the speaker while playing music on my laptop in the kitchen, and walked it into the master bedroom – 3 rooms and about 2 walls away. Almost no signal drop – there was some of course, but it was minimal and resolved with minimal repositioning.
I am able to appreciate the difference between my full sized hi-fi setup, of course. But this single speaker is sovery impressive nonetheless, so much so that I bought another for my son to use at his home with his laptop.
JBL has been in business for a long, long time and continues to produce a high-quality product so I have no worries there. I got 8-10 hours out of a full charge. No complaints, as the volume difference and BT searching probably inched it down bit.
I bought both from Gramophone, an authorized JBL merchant on Amazon that provided a protective case for it as a bundle. These guys are terrific, and answered all of my questions when I spoke with them. Thank you, Matt.
