The JVC Gumy Connect USB-C wired earbuds get the job done with reasonable sound for the price. The earbuds are light weight and fit in the ear easily thanks to the various sizes of earpieces. These earbuds include a microphone so in a pinch these can be used for a Teams meeting on your PC or phone, which was a use case for me. I normally have a headset for Teams meetings and was traveling and somehow forgot to pack the headset. My first thought was I would be using my phone held up to my head for hours at a time as I am not a fan of using speakerphone. I then remembered that I had packed the JVC earbuds and they worked great for the task. I found the sound quality to be particularly good and there were no complaints about sound quality by others on the calls. The claims of the DAC reducing noise I am skeptical about; a low-end DAC may make the sound slightly better but it is not going to perform noise cancellation.

I got these for my new phone that doesn’t have a headphone jack. I had bought some adapters from a headphone to the usb-c port but find it distorts my voice when I’m trying to sing on my app. I was hoping that the JVC headphones would work. Well, they do work better than any other ones I have tried but not perfect by all means. They are inexpensive. I love how you can turn the microphone off or on by a quick switch as well as control volume and pause. I really like the silicone ear pieces as they stay put and not fall out. They offer 3 sizes. For the price, these are pretty good. But if you want bass or a good microphone, get a way more expensive headsets. These will work for phone calls, for sure!

Now that more and more portable devices are moving to USB-C for all types of corded connections, including power and earbuds, I have gotten several USB-C earbuds to try out. I like these the best, except that they don’t provide a lot of bass unless they are inserted very deeply into my ears.
What I like:
– Seem very well made.
– Have an actual volume and mute control that control those functions on the device. Some cheaper items of this type don’t do that. The controls on these buds work really well.
– Come with 4 different ear bud sizes so you can adjust to your own ears.
– Sound quality generally pretty good, except for the bass.
What I don’t like so much:
– As noted above, the lack of bass unless pushed deep into my ears. I am going to try some of the other ear bud sizes to see if any of them help with this.
– Some instructions are included, but they only cover some aspects of operation, notably how to answer and end phone calls. Other info, such as how to identify R vs L bud and some other things are only available on the JVCKENWOOD web site, and in piecemeal fashion, i.e. there is no single web page or PDF document that brings all of the information together. Some information on care and cleaning would have been nice as well, but I didn’t find any.

These don’t fit in the ears or block out noise nearly as well as the older wireless gumy earbuds I own. Disappointed as I have to turn the volume way up to make up for the background noise I can hear through them.

I’m very happy with these as a second usb-c headphone set. The others I have are the AKG ones that come with some samsung devices. I believe those AKG ones are cheaper and for me are more comfortable with better sounds quality. However, these ones are perfectly fine, comfortable enough, and have a good length cable which makes them more convenient for me very often. While not the most amazing headphones around, they are priced appropriately and very useable if you need a set of usb-c headphones.
