LG 9 Kg (Wash) / 5 Kg (Dry) AI Direct Drive with Wi-Fi Fully Automatic Front-Loading Washer Dryer (FHD0905SWM, With Steam remove allergen, Middle Black)

Its a dark horse which looks beautiful. Turbo cycle for 39 minutes is good for most cases however if we go for wash + dry cycle then it takes around 4 hrs. My bedsheets were completely dry and steam removes any kind of smell. Cleaning is also good as expected. Got replacement offer with good value and a voucher which effectively reduced price by 8k. It was good deal at that price.

Don’t go by the headline. I absolutely liked the product, but there are things to know.

Description:-

– Heavy to handle.
– Easy to understand & handle.
– Does the job quite silently.
– Doesn’t move from its place. Absolutely stable.
– Is smart enough to understand the weight of the contents and then decide the right time required.
– The 39 minute wash cycle (the most used) does the job quite well. Really no need for extended period cycles.
– The 1400 rpm spin cycle is a boon for pre drying.

The Dryer part:-
– Yes, its a 100% cloths dryer, but one must understand the suggested ‘weight’ of clothes for drying. Despite a good spin (1200 or 1400), there’ll always be around 50% of moisture still absorbed in the clothes. One must account for this weight too, before crowding the basket with wet clothes. The recommended max capacity is 7 kgs, which loosely translates into 3.5 kgs of dry clothes. Now this doesn’t sums up to many pieces. A couple of Jeans, shirts and towels would add upto 3.5 kgs. But yes, they come out bone dry indeed. Even if you crowd the cylinder and select a one hour drying cycle, the clothes come out quite dehydrated. An hour so of drying would then be sufficient. (mind it I’m from Mumbai and the relative humidity these days is between 85 & 94%)

But be prepared to receive shrunk clothing. This though is a universal problem with tumble dryers.

The monthly tub cleaning cycle is recommended and this would mean having to use the specific detergent/descaling agent from LG. This eliminates all strange odours emanating from within.

If this machine has to last 10 years, I’d think its worth it. Anything beyond it would make it an absolute VFM proposal.

We saw this machine in Reliance Digital but found it cheaper on Amazon by almost ₹10,000 so ordered it. Good service.
The machine is very convinient as we can wash larger loads unlike our previous LG 5.5 kg front load tumble dry. The large dryer is a bonus in winters and for washing and drying full size duvets and bed sheets.

After a few cycles: product is good, noise is less, quick wash feature is great. Satisfied. No drama and no nonsense product till now. Extended warranty from LG is quite costly.
