I wanted a keyboard that provides me 1) safety 2) emable me to use ipad a laptop. Both of these features were fulfilled by having this keyboard with you. And that’s the whole point. Otherwise go with a normal cover. The product justifies it’s price. There is no lag with the mouse pad, it works butterlike. The keyboard is sturdy and has many functional keys for ipad. Also there is a backlight in the keyboard that you can control with button on the keyboard.

Before writing about the product itself, I want to point out that you should decide very carefully if you actually need a keyboard case for your iPad Pro, because at 17K, this is not exactly an affordable product. If you know that you will be doing a lot of typing on your iPad, specially when you are out and about in the world, then you should definitely consider this product. There is another thing that you should be mindful of: iPad is always going to be a touch-based device first. The touchpad is not going to be a meaningful replacement in all the apps, and you should not expect so either. Think of this keyboard case as an addition to the input options you have on your iPad, rather than a replacement to anything.

The product itself is extremely well thought out. The keys have adequate travel [as much as you can expect from a low profile keyboard], even though the thinness of the case is astounding. There is backlight with many levels of control. White backlight on grey keys gives plenty of contrast. There is a function row up top, for controlling things like screen brightness, volume and keyboard backlight. This last thing gives it a major advantage over Apple’s Magic Keyboard for the iPad. The Combi Touch is also a little cheaper than Apple’s offering. The case and the keyboard deck have some sort of robust feeling cloth like material on top. I am worried about the longevity of the fabric, but nonetheless, it feels very satisfying to rest the wrists on while typing. The trackpad works wonderfully — iPadOS has almost all the gestures that macOS has, with the exception of three finger dragging. The trackpad’s size might feel a little small, specially in the vertical axis, but there is only so much you can accommodate in a case this size.

Coming to the negatives that I want to highlight, the first one has to be the sheer effort it takes to open up the case from the closed position. It is specially difficult if your Apple Pencil is resting on top of the iPad. It will take some getting used to, I suppose. The next thing is the size of the keys. On the Combi Touch case for the 11” iPad Pro, the keys have been squished in size to make them fit on the tiny case. And I don’t know if it is the size of the keys or if the keys are off-centered a little bit or if my hands are too big, but I kept hitting the wrong keys in the beginning. It took me a good twenty minutes of typing on this thing to get used to it. Also, unlike Apple’s Magic Keyboard, there is no way you are going to be using Combi Touch case on your lap — just give up that dream right now. You will always need a table in front of you because the iPad with the kickstand and the keyboard attached to it does take some space. The last thing I would mention is the weight. The iPad Pro with the keyboard attached to it is going to feel significantly heavier, but definitely less than a laptop.

Overall, I am very happy with the product because honestly, this is exactly the kind of thing I wanted for my iPad Pro — a way for me to have more than one input options on such a powerful device, without having to give up much. Plus, the fact that you can detach your iPad when you want to enjoy a movie on the couch was also a major selling point for me.

I felt like I paid full price for a used product. Seller seemed to have sent used product.
Pack seal was open when delivered… and to add to it keyboard and track pad had some kind of yellow marks on them when I opened. There is no polythene which is there on the same keypad someone I know got it in offline stone.. I didn’t choose to return coz I was tight on timelines and couldn’t return and wait for delivery of replacement all again!

Coming to brand and product part, Logitech did a good job by creating such a sturdy case and a nice keyboard with decent key travel

I liked its sturdiness. It perfectly fits the iPad. It protects it all around—a smooth keyboard sync experience. There is no lag. You can take it anywhere. It can keep on any flat surface. Even on a lap would work perfectly. Its grip is excellent. You can hold it for long. The best part is there is a separate place to keep a pencil or Logitech pencil. I am using Apple one. It fits perfectly and gives it a hold.

I love this as much as I hated my previous iPad keyboard, a dysfunctional Logitech model that flaked out within two months of purchase.

The Bluetooth connection on this one is rock-solid, and the keyboard pairs without any fuss when the edge of the iPad is locked into the groove on the keyboard. In fact, that’s pretty much how I leave it all the time. (That’s partly also because it’s not exactly easy to pop the iPad out when you just want the tablet in your hand, for ease of positioning, while watching videos etc – which is perhaps the most marked downside of this product. Using the iPad in “pure tablet mode” is possible but not exactly the best experience. You can fold the unit so the keyboard is fully tucked away under the iPad, with the tablet resting lightly on the keyboard, but it’s hard to hold that way for long because of how thick the resulting unit is.)

Key travel is good – possibly better than the super-shallow key travel on the recent MacBook Pros. Getting used to a smaller keyboard area takes some time, but that’s to be expected. Ctrl+tabbing and other non-iOS shortcuts work perfectly. If for some reason you need the on-screen iOS keyboard, you can bring it up with a key press on the Logitech keyboard.

The magnet that holds the keyboard in place is nice and strong. You can lift just the iPad, with the keyboard anchored to it, and they won’t separate.

Small gripe: if the keyboard has been paired but inactive for a while, you need to “wake it up” with some dummy keystrokes before typing what you actually want. On the plus side, that means the battery isn’t being used up when it isn’t needed. Battery life is claimed to be four years or thereabouts, but if it gives out before then, a Logitech service centre ought to be able to replace it for you.

There is a pencil holder, which looks nice, but I haven’t used it.

    UPDATE, 29 Sep 2019:
I’ve rated this one star now, but this is mostly for Logitech’s piss poor service in Mumbai. A few weeks ago when I opened the keyboard case, I saw the left Shift button was askew and jammed in place. When I tried to wiggle it free with a finger, the whole key came off.

I contacted Ensure Support in Mumbai, Logitech’s official service provider. At first the incompetent on the phone kept saying that the product was not “in our database”, though I provided all details she asked for (model number, etc). I needed to email in scans of the plate on the back with all the tech details before they accepted that it was indeed a Logitech product.

After I sent in some more pictures and descriptions of what happened, I was told I would get a refund and I was to bring the product in with proof of ID, a cancelled cheque, blah blah. The next day, I got a call saying, no, they would not offer me a refund or a replacement, but they would “see” if the key could be replaced. I took it in, and as expected, they said they could do nothing about it.

Spectacularly lousy service. This is my second such experience with Ensure Support, who exist solely for the purpose of making sure Logitech customers are stuck with their faulty products to the end of their lives.

Product works well on ipad 9th gen, only is quite heavy. Keyboard is nice to type on and the case feels very thick and protective. Ports are all also easily accessible.
