Micromax 101 cm (40 inch) Full HD LED Smart TV

I have purchased a Micromax 40 Canvas-S Smart TV Model a week back in Flipkart for about 25K. But after the 1 week experience, it’s not a bad device, but overall i feel like i did mistake by choosing Micromax.\nI don’t have a smart TV before. So i don’t know what a smart TV should have or should not. \n\nFirst i prefer to list out the negative points and later i’ll mention positive points.\n\nNegative Reasons:\n\n1, Smart TV: As shows in advertisement, Yes! It is a smart TV with android OS. But after signing my account into it, later checked in my google device portal, shows it as mobile! They skinned the app launcher as TV OS, but actually it’s a mobile OS, hence it’s not optimized to use with TV remote. Most of the time you need a mouse to use for apps that you install. Tried youtube and play store, unable to use search function with remote. Install Leanback versions of youtube (compatible for android TV OS) which is not working as expected as it shows only 1 result in each category. Tried to install leanback version of Play store, but minimum requirement for that is android version 5.0 (TV is just 4.4.4 version) Hence unable to install.\n\n2, Connectivity: It has both LAN (may be 100MbPS link) and Wi-Fi (1T1R type)(just google it to know). LAN connection is fine. But most of the time, i face connectivity issues with Wi-Fi (shows no internet, but my other Wi-Fi devices are working fine).\n\n3, RAM: It has 1GB of RAM, you can get abou 800MB ready to use. But you can’t do multitasking. Most of the time chrome won’t respond, google play services get’s force closed. Sometime the whole OS won’t respond, you have to manually restart the device with given hard switch.\n\n4, Miracast: I have totally disappointed with this feature as i have bought this TV for this feature, but this has not even worked once. It’s a broken feature. You’ll see a device, but unable to connect. Tried with my android cast screen feature and my laptop’s wireless display feature. NO LUCK!\n\n5, USB: This TV has a USB 3.0 and a USB 2.0 ports. But as this has a mobile OS, it has a built-in power saving feature for USB ports. If a USB drive is not in use for longer time, OS will stop giving power to USB device. Later you have to remove and insert it back to get it worked.\n\nPositive Reasons:\nAs this TV has less price when compared with other leading TV manufacturers, do not expect any feature to be best. \n\n1, Display panel: Obviously micromax have to use cost efficient panels to make it’s price cheaper. But display is fine. But lack of power saving feature to turn it’s brightness to low level is disappointing.\n\n2, Audio: It has 2 speakers (2×12=24 watts). Less clarity (less treble and bass) and no settings to tune audio.\n\n3. Ports: It has 3 HDMI and 2 USB (1 USB 3.0 and 1 USB 2.0) which makes you to connect more peripherals.\n\nAfter all i wanted to return it back and wanted to buy a non-smart TV with Full HD Res, and later use any android TV box and make that as a smart TV. But Flipkart is refusing to return as they only accept devices with transit and delivery damages but not devices with broken features.\n\nIf you want to buy a smart LED TV, go for a leading brand as their panels lasts much longer than low-tier brands. I would suggest you to buy a plasma TV as it lasts much longer than LED panels, but with a bit less brightness. \n\nHope this information Helps.

Faced issues with SAMSUNG TV display and decided not to spend on costly TVs. My option was CANVAS S smart TV, thanks to Flipkart for the offers , prompt delivery and prompt installation & demo. On the exchange of my old Samsung LCD, i got 10k discount and finally got a FHD LED Smart 40\

friends i have purchased this led tv on 18-09-2016,today when i submit my review is 25-09-2016.\n1- best picture quality in videocon hd channel.i have subcribed platinum hd pack for 1 year.\n2- miracast app working flawless mean u can watch your mobile video. listen music..play game..on tv screen.excellent\n3-mi canvas app needs more improvement.not working fluently.\n4- all android app working.i have installed app from play store.\n5- remote control not user friendly because this is smart tv so we require wireless mouse.i dont use yet mouse but i will order.\n6-sound is not so good..not too bad..mean average sound..you dont feel any problem in hd channel..voice clarity is good.\n7-its have android kit kat version..its have best connrctivity option.\n8- its best tv for bechlors and family also.medium size led tv.if you have big hall you should go in 50 inch size.\n9-three years warranty..1+2 year extend warranty( for this you should send message type EW on micromax no which give in tv discreption option.)

Pros\n1. Free installation and Demo\n2. Features are very good because its an android tv with almost every feature in this low budget price\n3. Tried few apps from Google play and apps run smoothly without any problem\n4. 1 GB RAM\n5. Full HD with 40 inches at this price is an advantage and quality is pretty good\n6. 3 years , i.e; 1 + 2 years extended warranty\n7. Can be worked as a computer as it has 3 HDMI ports and 2 USB ports.\n8. Using wireless mouse and keyboard which also turns into a computer and is very useful to have wireless and it becomes more easy to handle with wireless mouse and keyboard. i would prefer to but wireless mouse as it will be more easy rather than the remote.\n9. Can browse internet, Facebook, watch YouTube videos and can also watch online movies, every ting is working just as a computer.\n10. SD card can be inserted and to make the device faster always move the apps downloaded from playstore to SD card.\n11. Sound is good in TV channels or videos or movies or songs played from the pen-drive or external hard disk\n\n\nCons\n1. Sound is not loud enough when we watch videos online but its good when we watch TV channels or videos from external drives. If you want to fix this, then use speakers.\n2. All in one remote but it takes time to navigate online instead use wireless mouse.\n\nFound only 2 cons for sound and remote but this can be resolved very easily.\nOverall its a good tv with all the features available.

I had the option of next day delivery but instead scheduled for a day later. I say this at the beginning cause in a place like Burdwan next day delivery is a big deal. Anyway, received it on 29th Aug and sicne then used it twice to check everything cause I’ll be taking it to my home(no delivery to my home).\nPros:\n1. 1+2year extended warranty(offer till 31st Aug). I followed the instructions provided & got my warranty extended, no hassle.\n2. Installation & demo was arranged from a Service center near my home within 2 business days but I cancelled it as I would install it myself\n3. Coming to the features, its a Smart tv based on Android 4.4.4. At such a price, Android tv is surely a bonus\n4. Panel is of good quality (TFT though, no IPS). Viewing angle is very good. Its a 1920×1080(Full HD) display, so no compromise in resolution\n5. Color saturation & contrast are satisfactory\n6. User Interface is pretty good with Media, Home & Apps being in the Start screen along with TV & some app shortcuts\n7. Boot up time is very quick\n8.a) A bunch of preinstalled apps(not much bloat). FB, Twitter, Chrome, File manager come preloaded. 1gb RAM handles things nicely. I haven’t tried gaming. Will update on that later on\n b) Play store is there & already installed a bunch of apps. You get 1.92gb free at start but MicroSD card slot is there to expand\n9. 3 HDMI ports with MHL support in 1 of them, 2 USB ports with 1 being USB3.0(yeeeee). External HDD works fine. Other inputs are similar like any smart tv – ethernet, RF, VGA, composite, 3.5mm audio out etc. No Optical audio out port. Port placement is good\n10. Wifi & Miracast fully supported. Supports mouse & keyboard including wireless ones. No Bluetooth\n11. Table stand & wall mount included along with instructions. All are of good quality. Wall mount is fixed type(no flexi mount)\n12. Remote is a normal one with controls & shortcuts for smart features. Its does its job\nCons:\n1. Speaker output was low while playing from external storage. Got it increased with MX player. Couldn’t test TV volume. Will update later\n2. Remote control app is horrible with constant connection drops & lag. All that will be fixed in future I hope\n& thats it. Not much wrong with this tv.
