I got this Milton 4 burner stove on 20 January 2023. I paid Rs.3426 for it.
It is a mix of good and bad.
GOOD
1. Excellent finish and workmanship. Under the stove, the fitting is very clean, neat and secure.
2. Excellent packing. The stove reached me in 100% perfect condition.
3. Fast delivery.
4. The 8 kg weight is perfect. It does not tilt even when heavy cookers or big vessels are placed.
5. The 58 cm x 59 cm (L x W) is perfect. There is enough space on top of the stove, plus it does not occupy much space on the counter.
BAD
1. Takes a lot of time to clean the glass top and the steel plates. After cleaning with a wet cloth, we have to rub long with a dry cloth to bring back the shine.
2. There are 2 big and 2 small burners. All the burners are highly energy efficient (plus point). Hence, even on SIM in the small burner, the tava starts smoking in a short while, and the chappati gets burnt. So need to switch off the gas often for the tava to cool down. A little more adjustment should have been provided in the knobs to reduce the flame even further.
3. The knobs are very small and flimsy.
4. The glass plate gets very hot and takes time to cool down. So we cannot clean the stove with a wet cloth for at least 15 minutes.
5. The blue design on the stove is very nice. However the white painted drops looks like milk has spilt on the glass.
6. The steel spill tray should have been removable for easy cleaning. Now it is bolted on the stove.
7. The pan supports have a lot of gap in the center. Hence we are not able to keep small vessels. They should have reduced the gap between the legs, or provided extra plates for the supports. Now I will have to buy the plates from the market.
CONCLUSION
At this price Milton is an EXCELLENT stove and worth the money. No need to buy the other brands which are costlier by 2 to 3 thousand rupees. If you want an all steel frame, then other brands can be purchased. However please note that in the steel body stoves, the weight of the stove reduces. Which may cause imbalance when heavy vessels are placed on top. I have also seen that in the stainless steel frame body, the size of the stove is smaller than Milton, which can be uncomfortable to cook.
