Have been looking to buy a lens above 100mm for my Nikon and I must say this was the ideal lens, the range is good enough for close ups and long distances. I was able to get clear images at long distances and cool bokeh effect for portrait photos.. the good thing is we can carry this lens around without having to take other lens.
There is the thing , since the front lens is slightly huge and exposed , getting a protection cover will be useful.
the VR and autofocus is normal enough.
Only thing the build of lens is ok, I felt the ring while zooming was bit flimsy.
Overall this is a good lens for beginners

I purchased my Nikon z50 a month back which come with the 16-50kit. The lens was ok but you need to get the most out of your camera.
Being new to the Z ecosystem FTZ was a must buy for me. I went for the 35mm 1.8F dx lens(my choice over the 50mm prime considering the 2.5X crop factor)
I was looking for a telephoto zoom lens when I was suggested 70-300 but that was not the focal length I was going to use often. I went to check out this 18-140 lens in a local store and was quite impressed.
Brought it from Amazon and went on a trip to Meghalaya and man this lens was so amazing. I shot almost 80% of my trip using this lens and a few potraits when we headed for a stay in a resort(35mm was awesome)
At 140mm you can see a lill bit of vignettes which I initially thought due to the use of FTZ which can be corrected in post production.
Potraits are quite good not as par with the 35mm prime( prime is a prime anyday) but this lens should be there in your bag. Take out click some nice photos and share.

This review is divided into Vendor Review and Product Review/choice.
Vendor Review:
I bought this from Technogazet. My lens came in a white box and a warranty card with serial number that matches the lens’s serial number. But the fact that this is a white box item was not mentioned in the vendor’s listing about this lens. After assurances from the vendor and online discussion forums, and a bit of testing, I have decided to keep it. But it was a surprise to get a white box item. The shipping was prompt and so were the responses from the vendor.
Check with the vendor if you will get a white box item or a golden box item. Even if original, white box should cost you lesser, since it would have been part of a kit and now being sold separately.
Product review:
This is a versatile lens. The main reason for me to buy this was the range for my regular use.
The sharpness and picture quality as seen from pictures by other reviewers and elsewhere made me go for this one.
Why not a wider range?
I already own a 70-300 VR and a couple of other primes. I was relying on 18-55mm + 70-300mm, mostly. Carrying around both was cumbersome.
18-300 would have made my VR redundant, and came at 2.5X of what I paid for this mid range (after discounts). 18-200 (Older too) too was prized at 2X the price of this one.
Now, I plan to carry the long rage zoom only for planned excursions. A decent balance considering the subtle performance gaps this lens has (upon deeper technical comparison).
The lens does everything other reviewers have said. Will add pictures, at a later date.

Hello guys, I’m a professional wedding photographer and I’m writing this review taking my photographic requirements into consideration. I started my photography with 18-55mm lens. Then I bought a 70-300mm lens and finally I bought this 18-140mm lens. Now I have 2 cameras, one mounted with 50mm prime lens and the other with this 18-140mm lens and trust me my clients are quite happy with the quality photos that I provide. If you are a wedding photographer or if you are someone who want to sharp your photographic skills then this lens is a must that you need to carry. It covers up almost all your demands. With Auto Focus (AF) and Vibration Reduction (VR) feature this lens is the best in the business. You just can’t afford to miss this less until and unless you are a wildlife photographer. Wildlife photography requires high zoom lenses.
Now coming to the price thing, if you are looking for a lens with a budget of around 20000 then just buy this lens. You can’t get a better lens than this Nikon Lens. Let me showcase some of my pics.

I was using 18-55mm VR-II lens for last two years, which I had purchased with D3300 as kit lens. Anyone who has used 18-55mm VR-II lens will agree that it is one of the best lenses from Nikon. Crystal clear picture quality, amazing fine details and excellent color reproduction. Its retractability and lens lock mechanism are few additional features which are quite useful. The only problem with this lens is its limited reach (zoom). After sometime you will start feeling that you are stuck at 55mm and you will start needing another lens. 55-200mm is a good lens which you may also purchase in kit along with 18-55mm. That will give you quite a long range. Here comes the practical problem… After sometime you would never ever bother to keep the lens changing every now and then…and believe me it is a very practical problem and it happens with everyone, unless you are a professional photographer or a super-photography enthusiast. Here 18-140mm comes as a life saver. With this one lens you will have superb quality pics, quite wide angle (18mm) and a decently good range (7.8x zoom@ 140mm). You wont have to bother about carrying multiple lenses and keep switching among them. Its photo quality is similar to 18-55mm although at higher zoom (100-140mm) you have to keep the camera absolutely still (even with VR) otherwise picture gets blurred (this is not a problem of lens but the physics of optics itself). Overall excellent lens. A must have for all photographers esp. amateurs.
