Many of those who have used Nokia phones earlier or know about them are wanting the same quality in today’s standards.
So what primarily interested me was the snapdragon 662 processor, an excellent choice over low calibre Chinese processors as well as Samsung’s good Exynos alternatives, also a good android phone with a clean android (Android One) and Nokia 5.4 suits it perfectly.
Pro
Good build quality, and stylized polycarbonate shell along with a big battery at 4000Mah.
Nokia’s camera will make photographic gadget holders happy with 48Mpx (4 bin) . The main camera is decent in speed as a 662 processor takes care of that for a regular photo as well as HDR+ shots. The camera provides quality captures with good highlight control, as can be seen on the left edge of the home stone photo attached.
Night mode photography of a dim room came out quite lit, with a bit of understandable noise, normally Okay at this price point.
The bokeh shots are good for portraits (didn’t upload human photos) as seen in the background of this plant.
The speed of game graphics is good, anti-aliasing worked straight away with no speed damage in NFS. With my usability of limited graphics needs from a phone, it is not a major part of the decision.
With no interference of useless pre-installed apps, a few do come but are uninstallable. The clean interface of android felt great to use (I am looking at you Samsung).
With Android one, we will get updates for a newer version of android for a few more years.
Super ergonomic design and build to hold, it felt good old Nokia and probably I won’t be putting up a cover over it unless Spigen does us a favour.
A great option for a Camera quality video log is great, 60fps on FHD is also good.
Last but not least it’s a good old Nokia again.
Cons
I think with an FHD+ resolution this would have worked out great but not a major issue for my needs.
More pixels in the macro cam and 2k video would make this excellent phone.
UPDATE AFTER A WEEK OF USE

The only irritant is found in this phone is the proximity sensor which allows the screen to unlock/lock-on attending a phone call. It is haywire and causes frequent unlocks, causing drop-down icon bar items to be used unknowingly.
Also, this phone comes with a screen guard preinstalled, I won’t put that as a con, majorly because I do not like screen guards but will use it until it visibly appears degraded.

I’ve bought this phone for my father and mother. Both of them use very few apps. So all in all its good.

I have the 6gb version and have been using this phone for approx 6 months and here is what I think of this device.
Pros:
1) Stock android (zippy lightweight).
2) Slightly on the compact side.
3) The processor is good enough.
4) Battery life is good too.
5) Rear main cam is good.
6) Video recording from main cam is great.
7) This phone can game.
8) Plastic construction helps with the anxiety of dropping your phone. It won’t crack.
Cons:
1) Hardware design is lackluster, I think even poco does better than nokia on hardware design. This phone does not feel premium like the earlier gen nokia phones from 2017-18.
2) Horrible front camera. You will be embarrassed during video calls with friends and family. The 16mp count doesn’t matter as it produces some vga cam quality.
3) The screen is dim and clearly belongs to a 9-10k price bracket. 720p though ok for general usage does ruin the video watching experience.
4) Hard to find accessories in local market. You will be forced to buy online at inflated prices.

Well…. I was kind of disappointed by nokia by its release of Nokia 6.1 plus/Nokia X6 as that used to heat extremely and the camera had some bugs but the performance was decent ….
I was scared enough to not buy Nokia Phones again. However just gave it a try and was shocked 😳 the heating issue is completely gone, good battery life, Decent Camera [Well it lacks Manual Mode], Performance is good overall, and finally most important it has Stock Android that matters a lot to me 🤓
I would recommend you to go for it, well .. because i used GFX to play BGMi at ultra 60FPS settings and that didn’t even lag .😳
And the camera quality rocks at this price range [ need a bit of factors to be maintained, eg: Exposure and Focus etc .]
And at last those were my personal experience with the phone…. 🤓

If you like watching videos together with friends this phone is not for you. Bottom mounted speaker is barely audible. if you don’t care about this then this phone is for you in under 13k range until newer better phones arrive.
Not a fan of chinese phones so decided to go for Nokia 5.4 over the cheaper Nokia G20 after watching the comparsion review on YouTube
Everything else is on par with price. Ideally this phone shouldnt be over 12k maximum price and i’m being generous
Camera is better than G20. Screen is decent if you don’t care for high PPI,
Call quality is great, signal strength very good, WiFi works without disconnction
Battery life is good depend on software you use and permissions granted. you will get 1 day on heavy use and 1.5-2 days on light use. Accubattery shows standy time of 8.5 days. (The phone has A.I. features to help battery management)
Qualcomm Snapdragon processor are way better than meditek ones in the under 13k price range
Processor and GPU can handle game better than correpsonding mediatek counterparts
Has updates to Android 11 and Dec 2021 security updates as of 17th Jan 2022. This needs to be downloaded as phone came with android 10 out of box
One bug i found is the phone proximity sensor doesnt turn screen back on sometimes. You need to double tap to wake screen
another drawback is no compass sensor. Which is may or may not be a major issue
Good phone let down by terrible bottom speaker. Bluetooth speakers can remedy low volume but when with friends outdoors carry speakers is not practical or appropriate and this could be a problem
update : This phone has got android 12 update recently (august 2022)
