I used it for seven years without any problem whatsoever. Forced to condemn it as the plastics became brittle after regular use of seven years, I think much more than any expected life span.

Product is working very well but one major and important problem is that after heating we are not able to open the lid we hv to wait for some time to cool it after that with the help of lid point we can open it which is very time consuming.

Its been a few days since i purchased this kettle. I had finalised this one and Prestige PKSS 1,0 kettle of the same design since conical designs are hard to clean. Delivery by Amazon was prompt and packing good. Heres my review about Orpat OEK-8147
Pros:
-Very few kettles from familar brands comes with this capacity and deal breaking price.The Prestige PKSS 1,0 is slightly expensive but of identical design.
-The heating element is concealed which helps it makes it multipurpose. I have boiled water, maggi, eggs, pasta. Once maggi got burned due to less water but the grime easily came off.
-Water gets boiled faster compared to the previous ones I have used like Singer, Bajaj and Morphy Richards
-Its made of Stainless Steel which is safer and hygenic compared to plastic
-The lid and handle are made of durable plastic
-It has automatic cut off and it works fine
-The cordless feature allow the hot fluid to be carried anywhere without any hassles
Cons:
-The quality of Stainless Steel is slightly inferior compared to Stainless Steel utensils
-the handle does pass some heat from the main body of kettle..so kids should take care
-The power cord feels short esp when there is no platform near the power socket
-The lid dosnt always stay in upright position which adding materials to kettle
Overall this is a great budget kettle that too cordless for a bachelor for tea, milk, noodles,pasta, eggs
