Ok, I should have read the description more thoroughly before I purchased this. We predominantly eat brown rice and there are no settings or water levels on this rice cooker for brown rice. On the occasional times we eat white rice, it has cooked it fine. I would be nice to have a spoon rest on the side somewhere.

Actually I saw picture of silver and i opted that only and I didnt see any color option.
I prefer white color as in picture
I need to change this green and replace with WHITE ONE.

Cooked (India Gate) brown rice. ! cup of rice, slightly more than 2 cups of water, let it soak overnight, and the rice turned out to be vey fluffy (as in nice). Some rice seemed to stick to the bottom but was easy to scrap using nylon utensil but it was minimal. The bowl seemed treated/coated and though it appears to be not non-stick, the effort in cleaning seems to be low. I will suggest getting a plastic/nylon utensil to take out the rice. (There was no spatula provided.)

Could have cooked 2 cups instead of 1 cup since there seemed to be enough space in the bowl. As it was I was able to eat only half of what I cooked which led me to wonder if I was better off buying the smaller cooker rated as 0.5 liters on this web site but rated as 0.3 liters on Panasonic’s web site.

The smaller one’s bowl is non-stick (not a big factor in my view) and has glass top (against metal top on this one) which is also not big a factor. Cooking time is around 20-25 minutes and lifting the top a few times should not affect the performance much.

It is made in Thailand. The quality seems fine. As such I am impressed by the fluffy brown rice it cooked.

Great size…. compact yet big enough to cook 2.5 katoris of rice. Got the green colour which is nice.

I have used Panasonic rice cookers for several years now, 2 small ones and 2 big ones. I have this same model for the US market and am quite happy, much so that I replaced the worn one with a new exact one.
A trip to South America presented itself and these are as not common there in small sizes as here, and decided to bring one as a gift. Without looking too much at the details, I assumed it would be the same but in 220v.
    What a joke.
I took the whole box unopened, so did not see what was inside. We tried to use it that night, but couldn’t as the plug is meant for a UK market not the South America one. Round posts is the norm here. Additionally that plug is for 230V, not 220v as described. Had to find an adapter to make that work. It was not clear on the description during the purchase process, and I was made aware that after the fact. Well, supposedly not a big deal. But a hassle anyway.
One item they don’t include is the plastic spatula that is so handy for serving the rice. That was not good. Costs more and has less.
Then the metal cover, instead of the glass one as in the US. You can’t see the cooking without disturbing the process.
And the final stroke is the lack of Teflon base. First time used, ruined metal base. The rice stained the metal base and it is flimsy and difficult to clean. The result is marking of sticking rice.

Plus it won’t pop when cooked. I know it takes from 10 to 15′ to cook, when it was taking longer we realized it did not pop off. Wonder if using it in 220v vs the need of 230V is an issue.

I think they can get away with this because you can’t return these easily. If I had used this here it would have been in the mail the next day. Make yourself a favor a run from this product. If they sold this in America they would have a 90% returns.
Can say enough bad thing about this product.
