I own a Preeti Blue Leaf (750w) which is a great mixer, we needed to upgrade to higher wattage for some heavy grinding. Instead of buying a second commercial mixer, i picked Expro Duo (1300w) as a replacement. However, i am waiting to be impressed.

It wins on the looks front, the base with its LED lights, below base vent and flat top looks futuristic. More like a spaceship launcher than a mixer. There overall build is very solid and there is very little vibration during operation. However, the Jar locking mechanism lasted all of 3 days. Now, the jar bounces back and needs to be held in place. The Lid lock is very elegant and works smoothly, but, given that its a plastic against metal i am hoping that it last longer.

On the grinding front, there is much to be desired. The smaller jar has a significant gap between the blade the bottom/side of the jar even without the additional play when you put the jar on the base. This causes most “smaller” quantity grinds to stick to the bottom of the jar and escape the blade completely. Effectively, you are constantly stopping and scraping the bottom and sides of the jar. Even with larger grind quantity, it leads to an uneven grind at best. I tried quite a few different items and found unsatisfactory results.

    1. Dry Dates Powder – With 10 or so split, de-seeded dry dates, the blades did not “catch” them for a good 30s. The motor overloaded and the safety tripped for even this load. Ran it 3-4 times for 45 seconds each to get a good grind.
    2. Peanut Butter – 300gms for dried peanuts did better when pulsed initially. However, almost all of it stuck to the bottom and what is advertised as a 3 minute process takes around 15-20minutes.
    3. Almond Butter – Got smarter here and pulsed it initially to break up the pieces and used a larger quantity, 500gms of nuts to start with. Lot better results, but still the bottom scraping is a pain.
    4. Dry Coconut Chutney – This was a disaster, it did nothing to the scraped coconut except for spinning them round and round. At one point, i seriously considered that the blades of my unit “missed” the sharpening phase.
    5. Dates Syrup – Another dud, large chunks at the bottom even after ferocious 5 minutes of throwing things around.

Overall verdict: Average for large quantities of nuts, but bad for everything else. Tricky at best to operate and get to the sweet spot.

Now, The large 2L jug has a flat instead of a dome cover, which means that any smoothies or juices with more water hit it hard and spill out. I literally had a shower in my kitchen for a watermelon juice. Add 20 minutes wipe down to the grind time.

Net: Without the jar locking in place, one is left standing, holding the jar, constantly scraping and watching for spillage. The grind quality is anything but satisfactory. I am back to my trusted blue-leaf, instead of a replacement this is now just a liability.

Mixer grinding working good but the jar is very bad. top pat of the lid is too bad in shap and the because for the different shap the lid doesnt sit properly and the liquid comes out when we us As it is used for commercial purpose it is given as 2 lts and we will be able o grind less than 1 lts. It is beterto give normal shap Jar on the top part.

I am writing this review after 7 months of purchase. bought this mixie in may 2020. After using for a couple of times I saw sparks from the bottom of the machine..
I thought something wrong and shifted the mixie to another plugpoint , it worked for 3 months though I use twice weekly. Then again the machine stoped in the middle of grinding , then my son gave a punch on machine , it started ,again it stopped after 10 seconds , again punching , literally I should punch , whenever it stops , I continued this way for another 3 months , as I can’t return . Now the mixie doesn’t run , how much I punch, my son also tried punching with more energy , my fists are paining….
Due to lockdown I didn’t go for repair right when I saw sparks earlier . Now I am forced to search for a preethi service center , I found one and went to repair…
All he found was motor was burnt
And because it is in warranty , he replaced motor free of cost , otherwise motor would cost 2000rs. I bought the mixie home but apprehensive to use lest it burns again..today I went to a big electrical shop and asked for a stabilizer for 1300 watt mixie . He showed me a stabilizer of 4k which is big and used for AC ‘s.
I don’t want that much big stabilizer in kitchen that too for mixie..I called my electrician for advice , he told no one uses stabilizer for mixie , don’t buy..
When I went to service center , the guy asked me why did you buy this commercial mixie for home., I told I saw the reviews of the machine and I want something which can grind well and which can be a work horse..then he enlightened me that , while other preethi mixies have 5 year warranty , this commercial machine of 1300 watt has only 1 year warranty… He told 750 watt machine works well and you get motor warranty. Now Iam regretting to buy this machine
another thing is jar doesn’t get locked , you should hold the lid standing there , and the lids are not good , if you are not smart in using , it spills over the walls…
I am giving facts of my failure in buying this , it is for people to think thoroughly and buy .
