Kiran Nair –
I was researching a lot for getting a 55inch QLED TV and finally decided on this. Ordered on 13th Jun’21 along with the free teak bezels (price will get adjusted at payment stage). Had to wait a bit for the bezels to be on stock, to avoid mishaps later as pointed out by several customers.
Impressive specs and great design which will stand out in your living room compared to other TVs in the same price range. Dolby vision is missing. But have seen more HDR10 or HDR10+ content available in OTT platforms than Dobly vision.
I would recommend this TV in case you are ready to increase your budget upto 90k INR.
Updated after usage

Pros
– Thinner than 2020 Samsung Frame
– TV is eye-catching and gels well to your interiors. Different magnetic bezel options to choose between to match your interior theme.
– Artmode which enables the TV to be used as a photo frame. Our own photos can be loaded in the ART mode. Artmode will raise eyebrows once you manage to pull of the right settings according to your lighting
– Outstanding display with Samsung QLED panel. Please search for Samsung QLED demo videos in Youtube where in you can experience the deep blacks and rich colours that the 2021 Frame can reproduce
– Brightness is high (which is a miss in several other TVs) and still the TV is capable to display deep blacks. I used to reduce the brightness during the night.
– Good viewing angles
– Fluidic response of Tizen OS. Very fast compared to Stock Android OS. Switching between apps / app loading time was outstanding. It fetches the content from the various apps and display it. Also, when you select an app previously watched content will be displayed above it.
– Three voice assistant support – Bixby, Alexa, Google
– Very detailed settings and you can paly around with minute details.
– Integration with Samsung Smartthings app (available in Play store / Apple store), where you can monitor the TV parameters, use as remote etc.
– TV to mobile casting via Smartthings app
– Very well integrated with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Zee5 & SunNXT
– Samsung TV plus which gives option to view few free channels
– Ambient mode option is amazing
– Auto motion plus feature (MEMC in other TVs) for fast moving scenes (sports). But better disable it for movies
– Speakers are loud enough with amplify option and TV has Q-symphony feature which supports Samsung soundbars
– Height adjustable stand, but 99% of consumers won’t use it is better to wall mount it
– Remote with rechargeable battery & support solar / interior light charging. But I would recommend a first time charging via the USB type C port. Power button short press will switch to Artmode
– Single wire concept with the Oneconnect box. If you plan to keep a conduit inside the wall / TV unit to run the cables (during construction phase) then the Oneconnect cable also won’t be visible outside. Looks neat & elegant.
– Wi-Fi connectivity was pretty good. Did not find any lag in any apps
– Multiview feature for casting / seamless switching of audio between casting & running app in the TV.
– Picture in picture while casting mobile
– All possible connectivity options in the Oneconnect box
Cons
– Wallmount is not 100% no-gap as said in the advertisement. There will be a gap of 0.5 – 1 cm in the top side which will reduce towards the bottom end. So, don’t get disappointed after installation. But it is far better compared to a standard TV.
– Hotstar / SonyLIV compatibility is not that good. 4K content is not supported. App is slow to respond sometime and HDR effect is not that good in Hotstar & SonyLIV. Auto motion plus feature was not good for Euro2020 (SonyLIV) / EPL (Hotstar). I have to still work on the settings.
– Voice assistant – Not that good compared to just google in stock android / Alexa in Fire OS. Maybe it will learn over time may be. But was not good compared to previous experience
– Video calling – difficult to find a compatible webcam
– Invest in a sound bar that will add the bass which is missing. It’s the same case for all TV nowadays
– Volume up / channel changing button in the remote is not kids friendly. Feels like they will break it
– Artmode – subscription is expensive / individual pics are also expensive
– Bezels are so expensive. Found that they are made in Korea and then imported. Did not find any design elements that is complicated in those, and if they are manufactured in India the price will be far less. I got the teak colour type it as part of inaugural offer, so its fine. Otherwise it’s not worth to spend 5k to 10k for that.
– Handle the Oneconnect cable very carefully, if we have to replace then it will cost you Rs. 8000 as informed by the technician
– Need to enable wireless display option before staring to cast your mobile (eg: Oneplus / Mi). Seamless with Samsung mobiles
Kiran Nair –
Update 3 August: Received the bezel after the same became available for shipping to my address after updating the review on 31st July!! Adding the two stars back.
UPDATE: 31st July: Removing 2 stars |
Amazon service called me up in the end of June stating that they will provide me a link to order the free bezel that I could not add to cart. (I had ordered this TV within 15 minutes of its listing on the site and no info about adding the free bezel was provided.)
I got the email the same day that had the link of the teak bezel and the instructions were that we could order the bezel from 15th July to 15th August. When I try to order the bezel now I get an error that the seller can’t ship the bezel to my address (they could ship the TV to the address but can’t ship the bezel). I tried with my other addresses (even in other metros) and the result was the same. The same product available for purchase for about 7500 and can be shipped to my address by the same seller!!
I wrote two emails about it to Amazon CS but have not received any response. I am too tired to call Amazon CS phone numbers and to try to explain this to them. I have been an Amazon customer since 2014 but I guess Amazon and Cloudtail have become too big to bother about customer service anymore!
Sad state of affairs and lesson learnt!! I am better off buying electronic items from physical retailers!!
………….
The TV is good with respect to colours, picture clarity, speed of the UI and software. The installation was decent (this has a new wall mount mechanism and the Samsung technician ended up drilling 16 holes in the wall instead of the 8 required as he miscalculated height as this was his first time with this bracket).
One reason I have deducted stars is Cloudtail / Amazon put up a misleading product page when I bought the TV at 12:20AM on 12th June that there is a free bezel of the TV is bought between 12th and 21st June 2021. Upon calling up the customer support they denied anything was put up on the page. This was not expected from Amazon but it has nothing to do with the TV you can definitely go for it.
Aritro Bhattacharyya –
Pros:
Display quality:
top notch, specially because of matte display, you don’t get any reflection. Samsung provides 10 yrs warranty on display shows their conviction on their product quality.
Look and finishing:
very slim and sleek, looks very nice on your wall.
HDR playback:
playback is very smooth with dlna server, hardware is capable of playing 4K video without lagging.
Cons:
Sound quality, very big compromise, you need to buy sound bar to adjust it better or use headphones for better experience. They claim it is Dolby Atmos 6 speakers sound but in reality you find sound is quite compressed and you don’t get clarity even after you are sitting 5ft from tv.
It’s better if samsung removes sound panel from display and make it more slim and stylish and provide sound bar complementary attached with set top box directly.
