Left my tab at 15% battery when I left for work in the morning, I came home 7 hours later saw the tab was dead, understandable. Since the tab doesn’t come with an adaptor I connected the type C (in box) to my thunderbolt in my laptop and connected my laptop to power source and let it charge, one hour later , the tab simply wouldn’t start. Tried charging again on my samsung charger that i got with my s5e half hour later still nothing. Tried charging my s21 with all the chargers in hand to see if it was charging, and my phone charged not my tab. Entered hard boot, wiped the data restarted again by connecting it to my macbook charger it started charging. Took me 90 minutes to revive my brand new barely used tab s8.

Is this normal behaviour or is it just with my tab? Googled about it and people had similar issues and no conclusive fixes, can’t apply for a replacement because it is out of stock, definitely not buying a 45W charger just for the tab as I use my macbook charger/ type c to charge my laptop/macbook/s21/ buds 2 pro / samsung wireless powerbank too.

What’s the point of getting a tablet in the same eco system if I cannot use it with ease with my current set up? Wish I had known about this before.

Anyways I’m going to get someone to check out the battery and the ports along with the firmware.

I sincerely hope this can be fixed because the tab itself is pretty amazing and somewhat a step up from my s5e though my s5e comes with better screen and LTE.

Spen is amazing, screen size is great too.
Lack of options while ordering a protective case and a screen protector. Spigen doesn’t care about tab s8 apparently just like it didn’t care about my s21.

I’m not even sure if this was a good purchase or not.

Offical Samsung keyboard case is either way to expensive or out of stock 😂.

I’ll edit after I get the tab checked out.

Edit- I let my tab die twice after this incident and it booted right back up. Takes a while to charge but using a Samsung 25w powerbank/charger helps.

    Not an issue ❌.
If you find yourself in the same place, connect to a 25w+ charger, press power button + vol up to enter boot mode.

Accessories are still a problem, still no screenguard 🫠.

Pros : 1. Amazing build Quality ( aluminium build)
    2. Great sound Quality ( Dolby Atmos support)
    3. Nice display (TFT LCD with good colour
    reproduction)
    4. S-pen is amazing for note taking and
    drawings.( also lightweight)
    5: Great battery life ( 8000mah)
6: Amazing Software experience and it makes
multitasking really fun ( One UI 5)
7: DEX mode is fun to use really enhances the
experience to use the tab as a laptop.
8: USB TYPE C is 3.2 gen variant and support
fatser data transfer and also support display
output both of which is missing in the iPad
    10th gen.
9: Good cameras , not the best like mobiles but
good for the purpose of video calling and
    document scanning .
10: Powerfull performance , inspite of the
heating issue of 8 gen 1 there’s no denying
    that its really powerful processor.
11: Amazing software support the tab will get
updates till Android 16 and currently it runs
on Android 13 so for the next 4yrs you’re
all set to use all the latest features of
    Android .
    12: Expandable storage UPTO 1TB

    Cons : Heats a little but that’s because of 8gen 1
processor, good thing is that since it’s a tab the heat is not that much as it gets more area to disperse heat .. while gaming (COD MOBILE AT HIGH SETTINGS MAX FRAME RATE ) with the cover installed tab only heated around 46°C only for a while but soon the temp went back to 43°C it only heats around the processor area and the rest of the body remains cool at around 35°C as the aluminium build does help it in cooling faster .

Display : by no means the display on the TAB S8 is poor it produces nice colour and looks great but while using night mode in dark mode it’s a disaster as entire tab looks yellow but with dark mode turned off the night mode in looks good and the entire tab doesn’t go all yellow it looks similar like that on amoled display and gives that slight warm tone which we require. Though If it had a AMOLED that would be the” Cherry on the cake ” .

NO CHARGER IN THE BOX so it adds the extra Rs.1300 to the cost of the tablet.

Tab S8 has a great display, an okay camera, a powerful processor that can handle all tasks and asks a very reasonable price for it. The Tab S9 series do not make it redundant. All the flagship samsung features are there, the processor is an year older than the SD Gen 2 but it handles anything i throw at it well- be it games like CoD or photo/video editing.

    Pros-

Though its TFT display, for daily use you will get to used it

Battery will last long around 1 day for normal use

    It has adaptive refresh rate

Its best if you are getting at 40k

Able to charge this on Samsung 15w adaptor & it takes ~3hr for 💯

Good tablet. A bit pricey for a >1 year old product.
