A. Genesius –

I’m a mix between a basshead and an audiophile. I installed car stereos for 15 years so I’ve heard a lot of different types of setups. I had a pair of Sony XB950BT’s that I really liked, but they finally broke, so I needed some replacement cans. I loved the Sony’s low end and they didn’t sound too bad everywhere else either, so I wanted something comparable. I bought a pair of beats solo3’s and was very disappointed with the lack of low end, volume, and overall sound quality. So like any intelligent idiot, I did my research after impulse buying something that didn’t fit the bill and came across these ANC 2’s. They deliver. I wasn’t really sure what the sound quality would be like, but it’s way better than I expected. These beat the Sony’s in every way, better sound quality, more volume by quite a bit, and bass like a couple of 12’s in the trunk with 6-700 watts. It’s an impressive amount of bass. The only thing missing is feeling it in your chest when the bassline drops. You’d probably have to spend 2k on a setup in your car to replicate the way these sound as a whole package.
You do need to tweak them some with the equalizer in the skull IQ app. I’ve found that turning the the low and the low mid about 3 lines down from the top and then adjusting the bass through the crusher wheel gets you the cleanest sound. If you turn the crusher bass all the way off, it loses a lot below about 40Hz. But adjusted like that with the wheel at about 10 or 20% gets you a nice full sound with some good thump on the bottom end but it doesn’t get muddy. That way also keeps it fairly linear through the volume range so you don’t have way too much bass at lower levels until you turn it up like some other ways I had tried tuning it before. Some songs don’t sound great above that, but some you can go all the way to the max on the crusher wheel and still sound clean. These seem to have the highest pressure levels around 40Hz and drop off a fair amount under 30Hz. You can still hear them down to and below 20Hz though, but not nearly at the pressure levels you do at 40Hz. The mids and highs are way cleaner than I expected and these handle rock and classic rock very well. Like I said before, these aren’t audiophile quality, but from being in the sound industry for a lot of years, I got picky about sound quality, but still love more that average low end. These marry the two perfectly if tuned right and I don’t have any problem with using these as my daily set.
They’re also very comfortable. They don’t clamp too tight on your ears, and the ear cushions go all the way around my ears. No hotspots. I can wear these for hours and be comfortable. The ANC has a hiss when it’s on, but I didn’t buy these for noise cancelling so I just turn it off. I can’t comment on the durability because I just bought them, but if these hold up long term, they’re worth every penny and then some if you’re like me and want a ton of bass at ties, but also want a nice rich/full sounding set of cans when the mood strikes I love that I can change them from one to the other with the roll of the crusher wheel and not have to do anything else.

I was scrolling through TikTok when I came across someone raving about the first version of these. So I decided to get this version since it should be just as good as the first but with better features, right?
So first off, sound. I like the sound it gives me, better than other over the ear headphones I have. There isn’t that empty space feeling you sometimes get with headphones like these.
Bass: I always struggled to get the bass I wanted. It’s always not enough with other products. Even messing with the eq settings never seemed to help. But with these headphones I can control the bass and boost it to my liking. And it isn’t just bass without substance; I’m still getting the music along with the bass, which sometimes becomes an afterthought with some bass boosting products. And the right song can have my head shaking and I love it
Noise canceling: I’m sure it’s great. I can’t really ever do complete noise canceling since I’m always listening out for my son in case he needs anything, or the doorbell, and even at night I keep it to hear through mode. But I know it can cancel noise very well, and even hear through cancels a good amount of noise
Battery life: pretty good considering what all it has to do. I had earphones once that felt like it couldn’t last more than an hour but these headphones gives me plenty of battery life without me worrying about it. Plus when you turn it on it tells you how much battery life it has, which makes it even easier for me to relax
App? Most products like this has apps nowadays, and this is no exception. But what I wasn’t expecting was the ability to be able to pair to multiple devices. Now I don’t have to make my phone forget these headphones just to be able to connect it to something else. And it’s seem less going from one to the other
Overall I know I’m probably forgetting something important but I’m not a tech savvy person, just an average person who wants skull rattling bass without sacrificing the music. I’m super satisfied with these headphones, to the point I don’t even use my other head/earphones, it just wouldn’t sound the same

Let’s review, I have the first gen skull candy crushers and I loved them. However the first get ear pads got worn down due to me using them so much. As I was searching I found these and thought I’d give it a shot.
They are pricey. But for what you get it’s outstanding. You get a custom audio profile which allows the music to tuned to your own sound preference. It has a built in skull candy voice assistant for hands free features. Solid buttons on the side which are nice. They fit your ears! The first gen tended to put a bit of pressure on my ears which made it uncomfortable at times but these are light weight and pain free.
Let’s go into the audiophile people. For those who are maniacs about how music sounds, I can’t understand the audiophiles but this headset makes very clear music, amazing sound, great feeling and built in equalizer in the app to let you adjust the music to your preference.
It works with a mic as well. I constantly use the headset for phone calls. The multipoint pairing is great. I could be watching a movie on my tablet and get a phone call and it’ll automatically pause my movie and switch directly to my phone and let me take the call.
The appearance is nice. The case and everything is solid and it comes with a semi hard carrying case to keep everything in with USB C fast charging cord and 3mm jack for old CD players or mp3 players which is awesome because I actually miss the corded days.
Beyond that the headset has a 50 hour battery life which is outstanding and it’s more durable than the 1st generation.
Now for the kicker. If you love bass in your music and want that subwoofer feel on your ears then buy this hands down. It will shake your head and give you that loud noise you want. But you always have the option to turn it off.
Overall I’m pleased, even getting it at full price is worth it however I got it cheaper on a Labor Day sale and continue to use it regularly everyday.
(Ps. It says it was designed for Apple products however it works with Android and the features work amazing with Android )

These headphones do the one thing they are supposed to do good, and thats the bass. These give off a skull rattling bass, especially on max bass and on hip hop tracks. They also work pretty good for action movies that have lots of bass heavy sound effects. As a fellow bass enjoyer, the best I can describe the bass sounding is if you were to take the subwoofer rattle from a good car speaker setup and put it right up against both sides of your head.
However in terms of sound quality, the headphones aren’t bad. The headphones cut out some of the mids and high-mids which kinda just muddies every sound except base together, kinda reminds me of how some anker soundcore earbuds sound. Dont get me wrong, the sound isnt bad, but not the best quality you can get in a 200$ pair of Bluetooth headphones. Most likely, ur not buying these headphones for top notch audio.
Noice cancellation is not good. The headphones dont really cancel that much noise. No where near as good as Sony’s or apple’s noise cancellation. The transparency mode also barely does anything. I found I have to lower volume all the way down to 20% to hear a normal conversation.
I haven’t fully tested the battery but so far, the headphones dropped 10% in 3 hours from a full charge. So theoretically, the headphones should last at least 30 hours.
There is a mic but its also pretty bad. Decent enough for phone calls I guess, but still pretty bad.
Overall, for the price, I feel these headphones dont really deserve a 5/5 star, but skull candy did pretty good with the bass. If your a bass fan, you will love these headphones. If you are looking for something with a better clarity and wider range of sound, I’d recommend something else.
Also as a side note, I’m having a weird issue where the headphones will randomly start making a hissing sound and the bass wigs out. This happened after i took the headphones off for around 10 minutes and came back to the headphones doing that. Somewhat shaking the headphones fixes it though. Idk, I might have a faulty pair or something.
