I brought acer i series 50 inch android 11 tv from flipkart. Here i’ll be posting my month long experience with the tv.
Pros:
1. Comes with HDR10+, HLG and dolby audio support with 30w box speaker.
2. Excellent contrast ratio with deeper black and live color option.
3. Impressed with the image stabilization engine inside the tv. It automatically interpolates any video to higher fps providing a smooth and comforting viewing experience(can be switched off from display settings).
5. UHD upscaling is extremely well done. One cannot differentiate between a good 1080p 10bit video quality and 4k video if not observed closely. It also automatically removes noise while playing lower resolution videos.
4. Comes with usb 3.0 and hdmi 2.0 with earc support and ethernet ports.
5. Plugged in and played content from 1tb hdd and didn’t notice any drop in performance or lag.
6. Android 11 os give access to play store from where one can download browsers, vpns, ott apps, games and much more.
7. Comes with 2 years on-site warranty along with both wall mount as well as tabletop stand which is more than what is being provided by other brands in this price range.
8. Doesn’t needs stabilizer as long as you’re not living in an area with unstable supply.
CONS:
1. No dolby vision support. It wasn’t actually an issue for me because professional calibrators recommend forcing HDR10 over Dolby Vision because it calibrates much more accurately and is generally slightly brighter in highlights too. DV is implemented poorly in almost all streaming services and physical copies.
2. HDMI 2.0 sometimes feels lacking while trying to play graphically demanding pc games on it. Better to invest in a good hdmi cable.
3. Encountered a problem where sound gets extremely low while playing some of the contents available on disney+. I guess thats a server side issue.
4. Takes around 30-40 seconds to boot if kept switched off for long.
5. Struggled to cast high quality mkv videos from mobile.
Delivery experience:
I liked the open box method of delivery. All in all, me and my family members are extremely satisfied with the product.
