I have been using other brands of earphones and i thought I’d give this a try as audio technica is a very reputable brand in the audio recording arena. Here’s my honest review
The build quality and look is as cheap as those roadside Chinese earphones. Almost even cheaper than some of them. Doesn’t feel premium at all.
The sound is why I gave that 3 star. It does replicate the output of an interface to some extend. Pretty balanced although not perfect.
The microphone however is not very good as i keep hearing complains from people i call.
Other than the brand, i don’t know if it is worth it as there are few other brands in the market at price lower than this that are much better in terms of build quality and looks. It’s a very big compromise buying this for the balanced audio output.

I would only be reviewing the sound quality of these.

The tuning is Neutral. So this is great people looking for Neutral Sound Signature

Mids are tuned similar to but not exactly the same to Moondrop Chu all the other aspects falls short and considering the price its a surprise it even comes close to its Big Bro (More about mids in later part)

Bass is mid bass focused and not at all bloaty… a amount that would be considered natural is present with kicks providing enough energy

Unfortunately due to 8.5mm drivers being rather small… Sub Bass lacks and is not present that much and just a little amount of it is present not enough to feel that lovely deep bass rumble but just enough to fulfill the sub bass requirement in music…. but that may be a plus point or people looking for audio quality with clarity (I do not mean clarity in treble… that’s sharpness… and its present in other budget earphones) in the budget segment b/c 99% of budget earphones (yes even including the chinese ones) increase the sub bass in their tuning for the iem and due to the budget constrictions the drivers used being average and is not able to perform technically well, the muddiness increases due to which the mid range suffers terribly and sounds compressed and not natural and open as it should. Its one of the rare budget IEMs under Rs1200 where Audio Technica has put the effort into tuning keeping in mind the drivers limitations in which the Sub bass or the mid bass is not affecting the other frequencies while also sounding relatively clear, although the resolution of the bass is low like other IEMs in this price range, that isn’t punching above although I wasn’t expecting to be higher either.

The mids are where this shines. They sound CORRECT. Natural with touch of warmth and sweetness that is also non fatiguing to the ears. There is a boost in the lower mid range but only a slight boost nothing too intimate making it not deviate from natural sounding vocals(I personally like warmth in music but this is going for a more neutral approach). Also there is a boost in the upper midrange but nothing much to make it fatiguing to listen to or shouty. Male vocals have that deepness and female vocals sound sweet. So it nails both the departments but obviously it wont beat the more expensive IEMs. Vocals are the best in this range period.

Highs is its weak point and if you like sparkle in the highs its not present to put it bluntly. The details in the highs is there but not crisp and sharp. The details are not pronounced. Treble is present in a natural amount and there is roll off at higher and higher frequencies which is great for people like me who are very sensitive to highs although the sacrifice are the microdetails but to be honest in this budget even if the highs were present the microdetails would be not present as clearly due to the limitations of the drivers not being able to produce them. The highs being present in just enough amount makes the music just barely open enough so that its not a problem.

When compared to CHiFi this IEM is great even when compared to CHiFi as long as you’re not going upto Rs1500 in CHiFi and in some areas the vocals are even better compared to KZ ZST X. After Rs1500 the CHiFi beats this IEM but it is very well tuned for the price.

So in conclusion, buy these if you’re looking for a neutral non fatiguing IEM that’s great for vocals and you want quality of audio with clarity in bass and mids and highs and also clear separation between the bass mids and highs which does not mush into each other and create a mush of music. Although they might not sound exciting but if you want something that sounds balanced these are the IEMs to go with.

The cheapest quality of plastic and materials used. Only the branding of Audio Technica raises the price up. The earbuds are cheap plastic. The cable is too thin – will break easily for sure.

The sound quality is quite good and clear . Don’t know much about base . But the sound is very clear . But the build quality is like that of the ear phone’s available in road side .
