I don’t have any complaints on its filtering capability and the flavor of the final water. But every time I open the tap, the sensor kicks in with a loud beep even for a glass of water. That’s just irritating. I think there should be a way to increase the threshold here. The RO return of purified water against rejected water is too low. Unless you have a plan to reuse the reject water your water bill will climb up.

I tried to do my research about all the various water purifiers by reading the reviews on Amazon, like you’re doing now, and narrowed it down to this one, which I got for 8,500/- on a Lightning Deal. This Lightning Deal is quite funny, it runs until the end, but then when I checked it the next day, there was *another* one, for THIS item! (at the same price!). Donno.
Anyway. My house is next to a Eureka Forbes “room” – I went there to check, it was a DIRTY room with about 10 million people squashed into it, the guy gave me a lot of info as to what “RO” is and “UV” is, blah blah blah, which frankly I couldn’t remember, but thing is he couldn’t tell me what kind of water supply I had – apparently it differs from house to house, even for the next door one. (it’s either Ganga water purified, or borewell (underground) water, far as I remember). Upon inquiring about the PRICE, the guy said it was 20000/-, and after I asked what the yearly charges would be, he said “5000/-“, and then upon seeing my somewhat shocked expression, he said “Sir, apni mineral water khaben, tar jonno to 5000 taka lagbei”, with a “korun” (and threatening) tone. So – wanting CLEAN WATER TO *DRINK* is a crime in this country! I got disgusted and decided that I wasn’t going to buy there by ANY means. (A physical *SHOP*, anywhere in India, spells Trouble, as a rule – all the guys are illiterate or near it.) I think these guys had simply bought some quantity of Eureka Forbes purifiers (their room also looked like a godown), and they were simply trying to sell them at a markup! In the age of Amazon! – Like, did they FORGET that it exists??? Or do they not know? Eureka Forbes shouldn’t give their logo to people like these (there was a lit signboard outside). In ANY case, this guy would never have told me about purifiers that WEREN’T Eureka Forbes.
So anyway, I bought this one, it came in 2 days I think, I got a call that day itself (my phone unfortunately was switched off, as it was a Sunday and I didn’t think they’d call that day – I was mistaken! VERY good service!), and they came next day and installed it. Took about an hour and some drilling. Now water is coming, so very happy for the moment 🙂 I still don’t know how actually PURE it makes the water though. One review here mentioned that too FEW TDS or whatever can cause health problems, but I searched it and found a .gov page that said that that wasn’t true. Hence the reason for buying it. (I don’t have this “TDS meter” or whatever).

I’ll try and update this review in a few years if there’s anything worthwhile to mention. Hopefully I’ll remember.

– The product is pretty simple and compact.
– The fitting of the same happened in no time and was operational straight away.
– As a launch offer external pre-filter was given, which was a good addition.
– Has simple indicators of power, filtering and tank full.
– The tank of 6/7 liters gets full in reasonable amount of time (30-45 mins) but in the meantime wastes a very large amount of water. I’m not sure if this has anything to do on the TDS of input water but in our case (TDS – around 900), we’ve observed that for one tank full of purified water, close to 20 liters of water is let out. This is a lot of water wastage by any standard. Given 7 liters of water would be easily consumed even by a small family, the amount of water wasted on a single day is considerably high even if the outlet water is used for multiple purposes.
– The TDS of the filtered water is yet to be measured and I may add that point if I get to check it.

Desirable:
1) Water wastage could have been considerably lesser.
2) There should have been some way of identifying water level other than just the “tank full” indicator.
3) Once the tank is full, even a half glass of water usage would restart the filter, which could have been designed to start at say “half-full tank” rather than at every usage.

Overall a decent buy given the price and the pre-filter. Wish the water wastage was not this much. The only thing to be seen is the maintenance cost per year (Which as per the engineer should be pretty reasonable).
