The product is good as far as a smart ring goes. I am not sure what expectations the people have from a smart ring. Steps counter maybe off by 10%. Sleep tracking is okay. Heart rate monitor looks accurate. Body temperature monitor also looks good. Touch control sometimes is hit and miss but works most of the time. Battery life is good, should be easily 4-5 days. Overall it’s a nice fitness tracking smart ring like all the other smart rings are there which cost 15k+ whereas this one is 9k and includes all the features of other existing smart rings with the added functionality of touch control.

Pros: 1. Cost in market. Other devices are almost above 15k but they have good ratings.
    2. Sleep rate, body temperature and SPO2 are working fine atleast for now.
    3. I just chargeed once after got delivery it came 4 days battery life to me.

Cons: 1. Steps tracker not upto the mark. There is a lot differences with my smart watch tracker and Google fit.
    2. User interface needs lot of improvement
    3. No alerts as of now like battery low updates etc.
    4. 🆘 Option not integrating with my Google pixel phone

Overall verdict: If you are looking for a buy just wait for some more time. Atleast needs two or three updates then you can plan.

I was excited to get Boat’s ring expecting the same package of value and quality I’ve seen in their other products. Disappointed. Here’s why:
    1. Step count is absurdly high. Shows 10k by afternoon.
    2. Exercise tracking (cycling) very inaccurate – showed 0.6 km for a 7km ride
    3. No ability to send fitness data to Google fit
    4. App is clearly a very poorly skinned Chinese one

That said, heart rate, spO2 and temperature seem ok for now. Sleep tracking looks ok including naps. Battery life is ok. I can kinda live with it since those were my main reasons for getting it.

The build is nice. Feels good. As per chart we needed size 9 but when size 9 came it was too lose.

Step tracking is way off. Shows 3x of the garmin step count. Sensors need a urgent calibration and hoping the firmware upgrades will address these issues.

Suggest that we wait for boat to fix these before buying. Current version is not worth buying.

The media could not be loaded.

Not worth buying, The HR is off by 3-4 beats and that is still ok, sleep tracking is so-so but the biggest problem is that battery backup is worse. I dont know what they did after the update but i am getting hardly 2 days of battery backup from the ring. So if someone is thinking about buying, you can get everything from smart watch with better battery back up and this.

There was issue of disconnecting from app in the staring period, but later on that issue was resolved

Also the biggest issue is HR tracking. I worked out for almost 1 hr doing cardio and my avg HR was 123, However the ring only showed highest at 100 HR. The whole hour it only tracked my HR around region of 100-70 which is resting period while i was doing workout. It doesnt calculate your HR real time during workout but calculates periodically every 20 mins or so

If you are working out, then theres option in app where you can start doing activity like indoor running, cycling and the worse thing is that it takes your phone gyroscope to calculate the distance you have runn. If you are doing treadmill running with your phone on treadmill then even though you have run 2K with ring on, the app would show 0 KM walking.

    Not worth paying for 8999.

I’m probably one of the first purchasers of this ring. Well, to be honest, i had been waiting for this product for quite sometime and purchased it as soon as it was available.

Well, does the product live up to the hype that it created. Not quite so.

I have been using a Garmin for ages and wanted to replace a smart watch.

The features in the ring are quite basic and steps are off. I’m straight away coming into the cons.

Step tracking is way off. My smart watch rightly tracked 15 k steps yesterday and the ring 31k.

No continuous heart rate tracking, so not quite useful for workouts
    Touch gestures, well ok

Quite basic tracker and just okish. Very quickly needs a firmware update to calibrate the sensors and improve accuracy.

Major hype, not very great. Do not think product has gone through good deal of testing.

App is a direct translation from Mandarin. Okish.

    Boat, please improve the product.

Although the ring is a comfortable wear, the app supporting this hardware require a massive overhaul. The app is inaccurate when it comes to sleep tracking. Sometimes it assumes that I sleep by 00:00 when in realty i slept much later (hrs later). The touch button another feature of this product is not very responsive. You will have to always re-enable this features through the app. I feel, if we can have an app that’s worthy enough for this product features it would be more appealing.

    What’s good?
    — The packaging is great. Premium feel. The ring is well made and feels very good on your finger.

    What’s not good?
    — The boAt ring app isn’t at the level of even the boAt wearables app, let alone other competitors. I trust this will improve in the future, but it’s really pathetic at the moment in terms of what it tracks and how the UX displays each attribute.
    — The tracking on the ring isn’t up to the mark compared to a smart watch. Its sleep and steps tracking seems overly sensitive compared to the watch. Given it’s not an upgrade on the existing tech (watches, fitness bands), it’s really not worth its ~9.9k price tag.

Go for the ring if you have a particular affinity towards wearing rings (perhaps for luck or astrological purposes). If you’re looking to purchase it for fitness and sleep tracking, there are better options at better prices.
