The soap dispenser was leaking the Rinse Aid liquid after the wash cycle completed. Apparently a common problem with this dispenser. Bosch Model SHE3AR55UC/07. Using some You Tube videos as a guide removing the dispenser was not at all difficult. Do use a little soap on the gasket to help it slip into place for a good tight seal. Be sure all of the locking tabs inside the door are all fully seated.
I started to clip in the wiring harness and connectors and I could not get one connector inserted. After about twenty minutes of looking on line, no help. The connector is keyed and the connector on the new dispenser was either installed 180 degrees off or it was different. From the pictures, the original unit was a black plastic and the replacement was brown plastic. I could see the the keyed slots in the brown connector were on the wrong side. As it turned out the connector (female end) is also clipped in. I removed the brown one and took the one from the original and used that. When writing this review I think the brown unit was installed backwards but it work with he black connector.
Another note, when I removed the door panel, two plastic clips (spacers) fell out onto the floor. No picture or part number could be found but after a few trial and errors, at the bottom door brackets there is a slot for each one. Place the clip in the slot to lock it in. These spacers allow the bottom of the door panel to be squared up and held in place while getting the six screws to secure the door panel. Sorry no pictures.

Worked perfectly to replace my Bosch dishwasher detergent dispenser.

The one that came with my dishwasher started leaking the rinse aid. I was able to watch a YouTube video and replaced it on my own – 3 year old Bosch dishwasher.

This was an exact replacement for my model Bosch Dishwasher (SHEM3AY55N). Works great now!

Bosch 12008380 Dishwasher Detergent Dispenser. Perfect fit and easy enough to install. It took about 20 minutes. Has worked perfectly through 4-5 wash cycles now. My only complaint with Bosch is the need to replace this part in the first place. I paid a lot of money to get a top rated dishwasher only to fight the detergent dispenser not working properly from pretty much the time it was new. I’ve taken it apart and cleaned the springs etc. many time for it to only work a few wash cycles before failing again and again. If replacing the dispenser does not yield a long term solution, it will be “Goodbye” to Bosch for any future appliance purchases.
