CONCEPT KART KZ EDX 1DD Composite Magnetic Dynamic Driver HiFi in-Ear Wired Earphone IEM with Detachable 0.75mm 2 Pin Cable with mic (Black, 10mm )

The KZ EDX’s are perfect for anyone wanting to delve into the audiophile world. I had my eyes on the KZ ZSN Pro but wanted to test something cheaper from the same company before I pulled the trigger. At 949/- rupees, it isn’t a steal deal, but very affordable. It’s available on Headphone Zone for 900, but I bought it from Amazon because:

•The seller provides a carry case. Headphone Zone would charge 249/- for one.
•Return/Replacement policies on Amazon are better.

Now, the product review:

Sound: Well, with 10 mm drivers, they sound good outta the box. It has that nice separation between instruments, and highs, mids and lows(i.e, treble, bass and sub bass) are very distinguished. It runs well with my laptop, but I think my phone doesn’t drive it properly (Redmi Note 7 Pro). Whatever it might be, I come from Tribit Xfree Go, which has amazing noise isolation and sounds(even the crispier details) and an Infinity Glide 500( surprisingly good Bluetooth headset for the price, minus the comfort, can be only worn for 3-5 hours before the discomfort kicks in.)

Don’t buy this expecting to be blown away if you are an on-the ear or over the ear headphone user. This is good for the price.

Music Genres: IMO, this shines in audiophile grade tracks( Very High quality set on Spotify Premium). But in colored tracks, or tracks that have that artificially blended in music, it sounds ‘meh’ to me. It’s a hit or miss experience for me (80:20 ratio).

Gaming: Ah, so you’re still reading! Well I played PUBGMOBILE with it, and at around 30-40% volume, all footsteps, nade cooks, etc. can be easily heard. This will transform your gaming audio soundstage and imaging. You can pinpoint the enemy’s location. For PC games, I’ve played Stardew Valley and Bastion with it. They sound as they should be. Minute details can still be heard.

Note of Awesomeness: For Spotify, I had the volume set to 14% and still could hear each minute detail in the tracks. That’s awesome, because the other headsets needed to be pushed above 50% for me to hear them. Also, the packaging is very nice.

TL:DR / Conclusion : At 949/- rupees it’s the best entry level audiophile gadget you can lay your hands on. The whole spectrum of music is audible. Good for gaming too. Buy it.

UPDATE: 19/3/2022

After months of use, I can safely say that these are the cheapest entry level IEMs you can go for, or consider spending a 100 Rs more and get the KZ EDX Pros from Headphone Zone. These offer super clarity even in playing Valorant. Get these over those hype-marketed Boat/Realme/Mi ones.

I purchased these with some low expectations but to my surprise they are really good in terms of sound quality and they are comfortable also. My daily usage is more than 2 hours so I can say they are really comfortable as I use them for office work.
If I talk about the wire it’s very strong unlike other earphones wire that is very soft and within a monthly they start breaking. If anyone looking for a good earphones this a worth buy and I’m writing this review after using them for more than 3 weeks.

Good product

1. The earphones came in well packed in a box, and the quality of packaging was as expected. (Did not expect the earphone case, that was just bonus)
2. The best thing about this is the wire is pluggable entity, meaning if your buds are okay, but the wire has gone bad, you can simply replace the wire and it would be back in its best condition.
3. The earbuds fit comfortably in the ears and the weight is balanced so they don’t fall off, also the earbud construction provide great noise cancellation.
4. The wires are long and coaxially twisted, so they do not get jumbled up.
5. The mic is good and quality over call is great as well.
6. Now, the most important thing, the audio quality of this thing is great, I wouldn’t say amazing, cuz it falls a bit too short on the bass, but packs quite a punch. I would say for being under 1000, it is great device, and one shouldn’t complain. I usually pair it up with Dolby to get a slight boost in bass. I do play games on this thing, the in-game sounds are crystal-clear on this thing. I listen music on these it too. For music, I’d would say it lands 4.5/5.
7. It also has 1 year replacement warranty.

Now I know, there would be people, saying cx180 is better that this and is cheaper too. How dare you compare an established legend and some rookie newcomer. Bruh !
Let me answer, this Sennheiser cx180 has no mic, this one does. (don’t say anything about using phone mic, it’s a**, I know it and you it as well). Sennheiser’s wire goes bad in 6 months, and for a rough user like me it lasts an year, give or take. Yes, they give good warranty servicing.
No doubt, the music quality is 5/5 on it, and I have bought cx180 3 times before and cx300s twice, so yeah I can say this, it doesn’t hurt to try other products once in a while.
