Digitek Bluetooth Neckband Stereo Earphone with 8 hrs Continuous Play Time (DBE 002)

My review here is on the build quality and on the product genuineness based on the product pictures posted by the seller.

I was using my previous Bluetooth headphone(got from UK) for the last 3.5 years which went dead one fine day.. Without thinking much and going by the reviews I ordered this DBE 005, as it looked good by the pictures with decent reviews. My use case of this product is mostly during my bike rides where I take occasional incoming calls (Bluetooth auto answers functionality). I use it to navigate in the traffic and I end up using the headphones for around 2 – 2.5 Hrs/day.

This particular headphones when arrived looked very very flimsy(compared to my previous headphone) with very thin wires used and I feel this may not survive like my previous work horse to the extent of 3.5 hours. The picture as put by the seller in the product description has short wires(original picture from the seller is also attached) which suited me and was one of the primary reasons for purchasing this, however the actual product has quite long and flimsy wires( I have posted the picture). As a result of this a large portion of the wires dangles and does not give a snug fit when I wear it inside the helmet. For a moment I have my doubts if the model is correct or not or has the seller shipped me a different model or is the entire thing fake/counterfeit. Only time will tell.
I have my doubts on its capability of being waterproof/splash proof as the charging port is completely exposed and there is no cap/cover to save the water to get inside. Anybody else tried it can explain as to how the water will not enter from an completely exposed port.

Sound quality is good for the voice prompts I get from Google Maps. Calls are also fine. I dont listen to music on these, so cant comment for them.

The headset fails to announce the caller name (from my contact list) when an incoming call is received. It starts reading out the number of the caller which is annoying. My previous Bluetooth headset used to do it flawlessly. I have deducted 1 start for this shortcoming.
There is a *HISS* sound coming from the headset which is also annoying. Lot of fixes needs to go in order to be called this model a GOOD ONE. I am not happy with the model.

Bought these cause I needed a wireless pair for the gym. So after reading countless reviews, for it’s price range, it was worth a shot.
And yes, I’d recommend them. It does the job. The bass is decent, the sound is first class. No white noise. The noise cancellation or external sound cancellation isn’t great but like all earphones, make them loud enough and you won’t be able to hear external sounds.
One thing I am disappointed by is the range. I can’t go to the other room without its sound breaking which is around 10-15 feet. You need to be in proximity but for the most part, for the price, totally worth it.
Its battery lasts as well.
Edit: it’s been 3 years since I’ve been using this, and I’ve reduced 3 stars (earlier I had rated it 4 stars) because somehow using the earphones interferes with my internet. I cannot stream movies/Netflix, not even receive whatsapp messages when I’m connected to these earphones. I don’t have the same problem when I’m connected to my JBL speakers so I know it’s not an issue with my phone’s bluetooth. Defeats the point for me really. The rest works as mentioned above.
