Anyone looking for a pair of amazing IEM’s, please, without a shadow of doubt and a moment of pause, go for these. These are built with components beyond the limits of acoustic configuration. KZ just did us all a great service. I whole heartedly thank them.

This is my first IEM and I’m blown by the sound stage, depth and voice clarity.
Do note that the KZ Zax does not require any external DAC for amplification, it will work with your smartphone and laptop headphone jack without any issues.
Play with either FLAC or M4A files to get the most out of this IEM.
DNC –
I have the black ones and they look like largish roaches in ears. The silver white cable while being overly maligned is decent both in looks and performance, although unlike the ZAS and DQ6, KZ could have easily made them in a prettier shade. Afterall, these are the only jewellery grown men like me wear.
Sound is quite balanced and only slightly V shaped with the mids and vocals somewhat recessed. This is awesome for Trance/EDM/House purists like me who mostly listen to only electronic music without any vocals.
These are brighter sounding than the ED9s I have previously owned and way more detailed. Bassheads would be disappointed though as though the bass is tight, it’s not exaggerated, which is a good thing for people like me who don’t like overpowering bass which drowns other instruments. However, this will definitely be fatiguing if your sessions are more than 30 minutes.
Noise isolation is good and I am using these on my commute to and from work and can’t hear the traffic or the metro announcements (don’t use this while you are driving)
People who prefer rock genres and the typical bollywood music wouldn’t particularly like this. Even I prefer my Sennheiser 598SE which is much warmer and pleasant for the latter.
