Okay so the laptop, instead of just sending it to me; it had a piece of vinyl over the track pad and the the palm rest of the machine. It was badly applied, and just looked terrible. I removed it, and there are no scratches on the trackpad, and like 2-3 light scratches that the vinyl was covering. Kind of weird, looks much better without it.
It’s listed as having 8gb of RAM in the product listing, but when I run free -m, Ubuntu shows I have 12gb, so that’s a nice surprise. It was already maxed out in RAM.
There’s no touch screen, I don’t know why others are claiming that, or why they asked me to rate it.
The screen has a couple bright spots, I’ll probably replace the screen with a full HD IPS screen ASAP. So I’m not really worried about it. The trackpad sucks, but I’m going to replace that too with the classic thinkpad style.
Otherwise it’s a great machine for $362 shipped (including tax). I would recommend looking for a cheaper one, but I needed the free 2-day shipping of amazon prime.

Had to return it as it wasn’t working! I had wanted something that worked and it didn’t. It was sent back my credit was returned with no questions ask!

The ThinkPad originated with IBM ,became Lenovo in 2005 and is the only laptop certified for use on the International Space Station! I have used laptops for work since the early 90s ( from DOS4 thru Windows 10). The company I worked for used various types but IBM/Lenovo seemed to be the most common. Quality does that ?
My “old” T410 contains a built in DVD burner which I will miss. However, since Blu Ray came out I have been using an external Blu Ray player/burner most often. I guess the convenience of built-in days are over

No problems yet. Specs are as described and delivery was on time. Small scuffs, but its refurbished so that’s expected. I’ll update my review if I have any issues.
Edit: Been a couple of days now. While I’m still fairly happy, I’m knocking off a star because the trackpad is pretty awful. While it works for the most part, right click doesn’t always register and the two finger scrolling can be a pain/not work at times. I use a plugin mouse pretty often though so it’s not a huge deal.
Edit 2: A few months now but I do want to mention that this seems to crash daily with Windows 10 installed. Says something is wrong with the HDD. Installing Linux resolves this problem so it’s not a big deal for me since I prefer to develop on Linux anyway. I’m not taking any stars off though cause this may not be the sellers fault. It seems to be a Windows issue but reinstalling Windows did not help.
