UPDATE:
Logitech is a well respected brand because of this: their customer service. Right after posting this review, I contacted their live chat support. They are now in the process to sending me a replacement. I’m moving the review from 2 stars to 4. I still have to knock one star off for the design where you have to manually flip the keyboard every time.
ORIGINAL REVIEW
I bought this as part of a birthday gift for my wife + an iPad Pro. I certainly surprised her with the tablet, but there are some goofy things about this keyboard & touchpad that you should be aware of before buying it. I’ll list out my pros and cons here:
PROS:
– does not take up more space than it needs to like some of those fancier and chunkier cases
– keyboard uses the smart connector, so no extra battery + BT pairing process needed for this to work
CONS:
– keyboard has to be DETACHED and REATTACHED 180 degrees to go from “laptop” mode to “tablet” mode: my wife has since stopped using the keyboard altogether because of how inconvenient this is
– within 2-3 months, the beige / white color cover has become this disgusting brown color, it sure doesn’t sit well with me that we spent nearly $1k for a tablet just to fit it inside this discolored mess
– within 4-5 months, almost all the edges become frayed and warped due to heat, maybe?
CONCLUSIONS:
I think the CONS far outweighs the PROS in this case. The battery-free keyboard is a nice touch, but it is inconvenient by design. It is of poor quality, especially if you chose the cream colored case. I would further note that if you use your tablet even semi-regularly, you’ll see that this case will warp.

I unboxed this keyboard yesterday, and haven’t had a chance to thoroughly vet it yet. When I went to register the unit for the warrantee at Logitech, I was unable to provide the necessary serial number, as the number has been blacked out by a marker on the keyboard itself. I called Amazon and was issued a replacement model, which arrived less than 24 hours later. I am discouraged to find that this unit ALSO has the number blacked out. I was unable to get through to Logitech, so I do not understand why this is the case. It is advertised as a new product, so I am stymied as to why the items have been defaced/altered, and I am concerned that I will not be able to have the warrantee honored if I have problems moving forward. Is this a refurbished or factory second? It is sold by the “Logitech Store” through Amazon, so it should be legit.
I sent the second one back and bought the dark grey version hoping for an unused item. The third one had the Serial Number intact, but it was obviously also a return because the small plastic pouch that was located on the back inside of the product box in my first two purchases was opened and the paper info was carelessly laying on top of the keyboard and not neatly folded within the pouch. I was under the impression from the listing that this was a Logitech store, but from the return info I see the store is called Olive Branch. I don’t know how it is that this store finds itself with a supply of opened/used products, but likely that is what you will get. Like other stores at Amazon, the prices can vary widely from day to day. The Sand colored item was about $30 less than the grey when I placed my first order. When I ordered the grey it was $20 less than the sand. I preferred the sand color because the keys are easier to read without backlighting, but am keeping the grey because—at last—I have a SN to register.
I am happy with its performance so far, and have gotten accustomed to its unique magnetic system and find it more adaptable than my old Apple Folio type keyboard. I especially appreciate that this surrounds the iPad and protects the corners. Verdict: great product, but buyer beware that you may be purchasing a used, refurbished, or return, and make your purchase decisions according.

I have owned this keyboard case was about a year now, and after its use, I’d honestly say that it was definitely worth the money if you’re someone who ONLY has an iPad and no laptop equivalent. I study computer science and mostly found no need to use the keyboard; however, I did like it in cases where I was making notes for myself on daily activities or tasks I needed to do.
If you’re someone who needs to type on the go, on a daily basis for school, and found no use in getting a laptop, this is the perfect case for you. I consider this the “Magic Keyboard Replacement” as I highly believe Logitech’s quality of product here is a lot superior in terms of it’s affordability and functionality.
Pros: The case itself is VERY nice, I chose to get the beige/grayish color, and the amount of compliments I received for how minimally nice it looks is surreal. The back of the case can act as a stand that can be angle-adjusted to suit your needs. Lastly, the keyboard itself is nice and I found it to feel so satisfying typing on, it felt just like the highly expensive magic keyboard!
Cons: This product wasn’t for me, and in all honesty, I was wrapped around my head during the time with the hype of buying a new iPad, that I just wanted a keyboard case so bad. In my opinion, the keyboard isn’t the best way to study, but it does in handy at times where I need to jot down things quickly. I find a pencil replacement to be much more useful!
Verdict: The product is great, I highly recommend buying if you truly believe you need it. Otherwise, stick with a pencil! The idea of needing a keyboard may wrap around your head, and surely this has to be the perfect product for you. The affordability with its functionality is superior, and could make a great gift for someone who has an iPad.
Bonus –
When I ordered this keyboard I was told it was compatible with 1st 2nd , 3rd and 4th generation, when in fact it is only compatible with 1 2 and 3rd generation, consequently I’m not perfectly satisfied with my purchase…

Im not a fan of laptops but needed one for school. I didnt want to get a laptop, i liked my ipad because im also an artist. This converted it into a laptop and i couldnt be happier. The keys and mouse work amazing and the case is a bit heavy but very worth it
