I bought Redmi Note 9 pro max after coming from Samsung A50 mobile.. My honest Review..
For this price it’s a good device with all rounder performance. Still it’s display not good as Amoled Displays in Samsung Mobiles. Sound quality also not so good compared to Samsung A50 mobile..
For gaming it’s good for Moderate Gamers and device pretty Cool with 5020 Mah Battery.. 33 watt charger really very fast charging.
MiUi have many unwanted apps, but it’s easy to disable/uninstall with pc. After Uninstalling System unwanted Softwares, UI is pretty cool fast and Smooth. Though it’s a Chinese product, it’s assesmbed in INDIA.
U may think for POCO X2 but it lacks Micro SD Dedicated slot.. POCO drains charge very faster due to 120hz display..
Alternate option : U can Buy Samsung m31 ( But charging very slow), Realme X2, Realme 6 pro.

So after using the device for 3 weeks here is an extensive review.
Pros:
1. Good battery life with 5020mAh ( 15 hours of screen on time including 2 hours gaming CODM, 4 hours of browsing and streaming, the rest is media consumption ) i.e. even if you are playing Pubg it can last for 10-11 hours if you want to bring the battery from 100 to 0% with Smooth-Ultra options.
2. Fast charger ( 33W charger charges the battery in nearly 1hr 25min. Results may differ by 10min and thats not a big deal considering that 18W charger may take 1hr more. But I recommend charging it with 10W charger if you have any at home, when you are not in a hurry to leave so that the battery life stays in good health for longer )
3. Premium Design ( The design is definitely premium looking but also a fingerprint magnet, so use it with the plastic case provided. Don’t use any black cases because a transparent case will give you a good feeling about the premium look of your device )
4. Snapdragon 720G Processor ( Definitely it is an under-clocked 730G [ -10% CPU, -15% GPU ] but that may turn out to be good if you don’t game for more than 2-3 hours because it will be able to provide a longer battery usage and less heat dissipation )
5. No heating issues ( Heating has been a problem in Redmi Note 8 Pro because of Mediatek Helio G90T processor but the snapdragon 720G does not heat as much. For comparison Note 8 Pro after benchmark test will have temperatures of around 48-49 °C while Note 9 Pro will around 41-42 °C )
Cons:
1. Fingerprint unlock is slow ( At times you’ll see that there are no icons on home screen after unlocking it using fingerprint. They’ll come back if you use the Home button or the Recent apps button. However this happens very often and is annoying. I hope they fix it with a software update but knowing MIUI’s history it won’t )
2. More Bloatware ( This is a forever issue. But with each miui update it is only increasing )
3. Camera ( It is not even decent for the price point. But yes it will do the work. The ultrawide one is horrible at dim lighting. If you want this phone for a good camera then don’t. But if you can put up with an average camera then you are good to go. This con doesn’t mean that it is totally bad but yes it cannot compete with the likes of poco X2 itself in the same price range )
4. Facemoji Keyboard by default ( After setup it uses facemoji keyboard by default and you may not even notice. This is a problem because facemoji collects the keystrokes and other related data and ofcouse there is no use for it because google by default has Google keyboard in android and you can turn of data collection for it. )
5. Battery stats are inaccurate ( At times it’ll show you that some app is using 20% or more than 40% of the battery which is not true. Why, because that app does not have CPU foreground consumption of even a single second. Looking at the battery stats I uninstalled the app and didn’t notice any difference in battery life so yes don’t rely on it all the time, use your common sense as well. )
Conclusion:
It’s a good device if you can get it at around 15.5K ( written on 26 July 2020 ) with some offer but 17K it is a lot for it. So what other options do we have other than this phone. Go for Poco M2 Pro. It is the same device with similar specs and 33W fast charger at 15K price point as of posting this review. Or look at Poco X2 which also has great specs and a better camera overall, 120Hz refresh rate if it available at similar price. I don’t recommend realme 6 as of now because it has been reported to having heating issues. So look if those issues with realme 6 are resolved and whether it is available for good price.
