I liked the sound very much . It’s not boom sound . Trebile a little high, but very acceptable to me . Just thinking of buying another pair to give away also .and very comfortable.. .. u won’t believe what i did . Just ordered a another one . They r open back but the sound quality is superb. I could hear minute detail
I know they r not portable at all but ,the quality of sound it produces . It’s got sufficient base,. I just listen from my various tab. The clarity is just awesome . Those who listen to classical music or a full range orchestra it is a perfect set . Those who listen to jazz ,and stuff like that they r perfect . Just one bit of advice if u play at full volume the treble stands to out shine. Well do ne Samson . I like your stuff . And thanks Amazon for these lovely headphone . Complement of the season from Goa

I run a small recording studio … for the money. these are FANTASTIC!! ….. Clear highs + mids ….. deep rich bass …. nice & comfortable … though strangely, at first they didn’t feel that way …. but after a few minutes ….. excellent ….. in this price range they are unbeatable!

The default earpads are garbage and will case earpain in 15 minutes.and they will become hard and flat in 4 months.
BUY BRAINWAVES XL ROUND EARPADS its the only way to prolong the usage from 15 minutes.
Believe me its a great headphone for sound stage and balanced sound . The bass is comfortable and not much in yourface sounding.
    Build quality…..
My pair has survived more than 20 or thirty 5 +feet falls since i hang them on my door to straighten the attached cable😒.angain i stress you people to replace the stock earpads which are basically The fake cover on rickshaws or some. Buy the brainwaves xl round pads you and your ears wont cry like mine did for 4 months. And checkout some audiophile sites before confirming the buy. Since these headphones might not blow the minds of bassheads who love crushers and sony xb line. This is for big room sound stage headphones which happen to be excellent for gaming, and movies.

really good purchase, I am able to hear all the frequencies clearly now and now my mixes sounding better than before, earlier I was mixing songs on Studio monitors (Presonus 8) my mix was fine but sometimes it was going too bassy or less low frequencies, after using these headphones now many frequencies which I was ignoring I am able to hear them so I can easily figure out the clash, the stereo width is more audible to me. to me it is a nice investment, go for it guys I was worried earlier and confused cuz of a lot of mixed reviews

as a music profession I will suggest go for it if u want to check the mix out come comparison you can check my youtube channel @peiyushsharma

It’s a great product. All the materials used, feels premium and great (even though artificial, still premium). If you’re looking forward to buy this, DO IT! And cable has great lenght.

As someone who has used plenty of “audiophile” headphones in the past, these headphones represent a balance between price and performance that I believe is perfectly fine for almost everyone. There’ll always be a few people out there who want a different sound “signature”, but that’s all that more money will get you – a different sound signature, not quality. Oh… and better comfort. But there’s a cheap fix for that as well. More on that later.

The Samson SR850 is manufactured by Superlux (of HD668B fame), which this headphone is very nearly a clone of. What’s different is the non-replaceable cable (boo!), different headband design (meh), and what feels like slightly increased bass response. The 668B wasn’t lacking in bass to begin with, but the increased oomph is welcome for my use case (gaming / movies / music). These headphones have a _fun_ sound, with controlled highs that aren’t sibilant.

What they’re lacking in, just like the HD668B is comfort, mostly because of the cheap earpads that they ship with, which are identical to the 668B.

EVERYONE who buys this should replace the earpad. I bought a pair of awesome Velour-tipped earpads (search for “668B foam ear pads”) for less than Rs, 750 shipped) from AliExpress. See attached photo of my SR850 with velour-tipped memory foam pad. Put something like that on, and just throw away the stock pads. Memory-foam + Velour pads improves comfort incredibly, allowing a total investment of less than Rs. 3000 to compete with most (all?) headphones in existence. What more can you ask for..? User-replaceable cable, maybe? 🙂

Good build for the price. Earpads are vinyl and might feel a bit uncomfortable if you wear them too long. Good detail across the whole sound range, better still once you’ve worn them in. They have a better range than some more expensive headphones I have tried and are probably the best you will get for the price.

The Samson SR850 are so good headphones for the price with some really bad earcups. I replaced it with brainwavz XL perforated red earcup with it after reading about its earcups. I cant complain about the headphones. I might buy a desktop headphone amp and see how it goes.
