First, I absolutely LOVE the TOZO NC2 earbuds. I have not tried their company’s other products, but I expect they all have similar excellent quality. I normally do not write reviews on products, but I have to comment on the TOZO brand, quality, and even more so – their customer service. The NC2 version of their headphones are simply the best I have tried so far – and I have used a lot of expensive and inexpensive models from multiple brands. The sound quality is similar to many of the expensive brands – and much clearer on treble and bass than all the inexpensive ones I have had. For the cost, the NC2 earbuds are without a doubt the best value and quality I have ever had. Even if the Apple AirPods were only twice the cost of these (and remember, they are about 4x the cost for regular and 8x the cost for their Pro model), I would still choose the TOZO brand. That decision is based mainly on the customer service experience I have had.

Most of the OTHER companies (yes, Apple – I am speaking to you) are not very supportive of their products unless you pay for a massive extended warranty plan up front. I have had these earbuds for 6 months, and the left one stopped working one day. I was honestly distraught over this issue, as that meant I had to resort to using one of my other earbuds – all of which I do NOT enjoy using. They are either uncomfortable or the sound quality is just horrible. I wanted my TOZOs back as soon as possible!!! I was about to order another pair, but first wanted to make sure they weren’t salvageable. I contacted them through their website, and they IMMEDIATELY responded and helped me go through all of the reset options to attempt to save these wonderful earbuds. We went through all the resets, and unfortunately, the left one wouldn’t connect or charge correctly. INSTEAD of saying, “oh sorry, sir, you didn’t purchase the extended warranty for $5K, so we can’t help you today. Would you like to buy a new set?” (Apple’s favorite response to all my issues) – TOZO, on the other hand, offered to replace them free of charge and with rapid shipping. Tell me that isn’t the best customer support experience, ever!?! I truly believe it was, and the only reason I am writing this review today.

Yes, TOZO supports their products and their customers, like they were family. Plus, the representative I was working with was extremely polite, helpful, and unbelievably prompt in all her responses – I think they waited on my responses to emails more than I ever waited on them!!! Now, that’s a lesson for ALL of the other companies out there that don’t even respond to customer issues or complaints – follow the excellent example and lead of a company like TOZO, and you will keep a customer for LIFE. There is no question in my mind that the next pair of earbuds I have to purchase WILL BE another set made by TOZO! Hopefully, they keep their Research & Development Department busy, and come up with an even BETTER model for my next purchase. I sincerely thank all of you at TOZO for providing the best product and especially the most professional customer service experience I have had in a decade. Keep up the good work, and you have retained another happy customer for many years to come.

[LATEST UPDATE: In Feb. 2023 I contacted TOZO regarding the warranty for my no longer working earbuds. It was the best customer service experience I have ever had! Not even kidding! Friendly, easy, painless, quick, and satisfactory. They replaced the broken product and were extremely friendly and pleasant and so easy to deal with. I am surprised and grateful. Elva is the lovely person who helped me out. Have very high confidence in this company now, and trust they will make things right when things go bad. Very, very pleased. And the replacement earbuds are great, and so far have not failed me at all.
Glad to have a positive experience I can report instead of complaints! 🙂 Oh and I guess I was wrong about the warranty mentioned below. I don’t know where I got that. But they had a warranty processing form on their website, which I filled out, and found out from the info there that I was still covered, perhaps. Which I was. My bad.
/end of latest update from Feb. 2023]
[UPDATE as of 1/2023: These earbuds finally fit in my ears, and then not even 4 months after I got them, they stopped working! First one of the little mesh screen things just fell right out and it stopped working, it must have been held in by the ear tip thing for who knows how long. Then the next day the other earbud also stopped working entirely. Then I realized there was only a 30 day warranty?!?!?! That’s super lame and now I have no earbuds. Thank you very little. 🙁 /end UPDATE)
    ———
I like the sound of these a lot, nice and warm overall with decent bass. I was quite pleased. I mainly listen to podcasts and some folk/indie/rock/bluegrass/classical/and/or punk. The noise canceling works surprisingly well but the transparency mode, not so much. It’s so loud, just the ambient noise is a constant loud hiss, and odd things are amplified (a lot!).

Calling (outside in quiet, still conditions) with ANC on, for some reason, the other person was very very quiet but could hear me okay. But when I switched to transparency mode during the call by mistake, it was suddenly ear-shatteringly loud f on both ends (but upon turning the volume way down sounded okay for me and the caller, apparently.) A few other calls with NC on were fine but they were all conducted indoors, so I don’t know..

I definitely dig the ear detection/auto pause/resume feature, but that would be even more useful on a pair that didn’t also have transparency mode AND a pause touch control, I think.

This isn’t a deal-breaker but I can’t stand the way the earbuds fit into the case, they’re unnecessarily awkward to put in, pretty hard to get out, and impossible not to manhandle the touch controls when trying to extract from the annoying annoying annoying case. It’s just weird!
I was able to find a glow in the dark silicone Case for the case, which is nice because it has a carabiner clip on it. I found I found that rather useful to clip to all kinds of things because the case is so big I don’t really want it in my pocket.

The battery life seems good, but I have not really been able to test that to the point of needing a charge because… *. Here comes the deal-breaker: no matter how much I might like these earbuds, I cannot wear them for any length of time. The right one hurts my ear terribly – it seems it bruised my ear or something the first time I tried them and even now that it has healed (took a week or so, ouch!) and I am super careful putting them in, it still causes pain, especially in my right ear but in my left one too. And they slide out. I tried nearly all the sizes of tips, too, just in case I was doing it wrong. Nope, nothing could make these things fit in my tender little ears. I have never had that problem with this type of earbud before, but now I’m so worried about finding ones that will fit and won’t hurt that I don’t know what the heck to replace these with. But unfortunately, they’ve gotta go back, I must return them and try yet another pair.

[NOTE] – I’ve been on the hunt for the right earbuds ever since my duolink mbits crapped out on me (left bud) which had replaced my mpow mbits (same exact but different brand names) crapped out on me (left earbud as well ). I tried the Jlabs evo something with the button (not touch), but pressing the button jammed the whole thing painfully into my ears, ugh. Tried another jlabs one (i think) but the stupid case had no lid, what is the use of that?? Then I tried whatever soundcore buds with the stem and the giant case that they sell at Walmart for $35, and i returned them because they sounded so terrible, just godawful. Even with the other eq mode, I hated them! But they were tiny and super comfortable. Then these, they sounded the best by far, oh well…Now what?

    Cordialement.

I own the Tozo 9, Tozo 10, and these (Tozo NC2). These are wonderful earbuds for the cost. I do mean that. They are great little earbuds, and I do keep using them despite my issues with them. Of course, there are some trade-offs for the great price. In other words, don’t expect these to function like Apple Airpod Pros, Bose, or even Jabras. However, they are affordable and definitely a step up from a drugstore $20 purchase.

    – SOUND: As someone who appreciates the nuance of music and sound, these provide a nice listening experience. The sound quality is definitely an upgrade from the Tozo 9s and more comparable to the 10s. You will get a decent base and fuller mid-levels, without your highs peaking out.

    – ANC: However, do not expect real Active Noise Cancellation. There is a significant change to the volume of exterior noise when you activate ANC, but a fuller ANC is mainly accomplished by shoving the NC2s far enough into your ear canal to seal out noise. That may not be comfortable for some people. (It is for me).

    – COMFORT: That leads me to another point. If you have smaller ears, this may not be the best choice for you. These earbuds are much heavier and thicker than the Tozo 9s. For that reason, I am always a little uncomfortable while wearing the NC2s. They make my right ear feel sore. This has nothing to do with the tips. All the Tozos come with a variety of tip sizes. That isn’t the problem. The head of the device itself is large and heavy compared to the 9s. They stretch the outer edge of my ear canal and rubs against sensitive areas of my outer ear. I might eventually adjust to that, but for now, I wish the size and weight of the NC2s were closer to the 9s. So, if you want basic functionality and care more about comfort than sound quality, the upgrade may not be worth it.

    – PAIRING: Finally, pairing and unpairing can be tricky and frustrating. You cannot pair these to more than one device at once. So, if you pair them with your laptop, you will need to unpair them completely before trying to pair them with your phone. Likewise, unless you completely put them back in the case, far away, or unpair them from your phone when you take them out of your ears, your calls will keep jumping to your earbuds even if you are not wearing them. Furthermore, when I have been in this situation (I threw the earbuds in a pocket while in an airport) and tried to switch to regular phone usage (iPhone), my phone kept hanging up rather than switching away from NC2s. In other words, moving from one mode of listening to another is not seamless. Also, sometimes, I have to put them in the box and take them out a few times before they will connect to a particular device. If your case is nearby, that may eliminate some of the frustration.

    BATTERY LIFE: Excellent. Truly excellent.
