***Review on 12th day after Delivery***

When the dish washer was delivered, I took my time to explore what is in dish washer. Based on reviews posted here as well as reviews available on Youtube, I knew that this dish washer was apt for my small family of 3 members including a toddler.

    Installation:
    * We need to get the plumbing done and get a tap fitted that is compatible with washing machines or dish washers.
    * The inlet pipe provided out of the box is not the one I used. I went for another pipe purchased from market. Here is why:
    1. The end that attaches to tap has only threaded fitting.
    2. This means that the tap can only be used for dish washer alone. Because to use the same tap for other purposes, would imply undoing the threading of inlet pipe attached to tap.
    3. This threading of pipe is plastic. More you play with it, more are the chances of you having some leakage issues. This insight was provided to me by the installation guy.
    * The pipe I used had a better attachment on the tap side:
    1. It had that metal attachment which has the threading to which inlet pipe out of the box or any other washing machine or dish washer inlet pipes can be attached.
    2. Then it has its own plastic threaded attachment that can be easily detached from inlet pipe.
    3. Inlet pipe that I bought has its own spring based locking and unlocking mechanism to attach itself to this intermediate threaded plastic attachment which connects to the metal threaded spout of the tap.
    * Ensure that when you order this dish washer, you have it delivered after you have the delivery of dish washer detergent, rins aid and dish washer salt. Please order those items such that they are delivered to you before the dish washer.
    * Electricity input that the dish washer needs must be 15 amp. Please do not change the pin to match 5 amp input.
    * The dish washer comes with a funnel which can be used to fill salt and may be rins aid. I haven’t really bought rins aid as I went for Finish powerball tablets. These tablets and alike varieties have salt, rins aid and detergent all packed in one tablet.
    * I still went in for dish washer salt just to be on safe side. In next couple of monthes we will be having summer season. My society at times faces water shortage in summer and that time water is bought out from tanker suppliers. This water source which is not corporation water source is most likely ground water which is far harder than corporation water.
    * On this page, you will get manual pdf to download. I strongly recommend to download it and read it. Gives you a lot of clarity on what needs to be ensured for the dish washer to be installed, used and maintained.
    * You will need to buy stand for dish washer separately. Ensure that is ordered before dish washer reaches you.

    Usage:
    * Initially, I struggled with arranging my utencils but as other reviews suggest, that can be perfected with practice.
    * Ensure that utencils are spaced out and are not overlapping entirely. Overlapping utencils will not let water jets wash the utencil covered up.
    * Ensure all the time that all food particles go to your dust bin and do not accompany your utencils into the dish washer. I’ve read that these food particles will block your outlet over the period of time giving you some error.
    * after arranging utencils in dish washer, always rotate both the water jet fans to ensure no utencil is blocking their path.
    * In case of large plates, you can arrange them at the back of lower basket facing to the front of dish washer. this way large plates stay out of the way of these fans.
    * You can also arrange them in front or side of basket. But be careful of 2 scenarios:
Scenario 1. Obstruction to detergent compartment lead
    1. The large plate placed in front of basket can stay out of the way of the fan but can obstruct the detergent compartment to open fully. Yes – detergent compartment opens automatically by water pressure may be to let detergent get mixed with water during a wash cycle.
    2. As I am using tablet and not detergent powder, in such scenario, I have placed tablet in compartment but kept the lead of detergent compartment open taking care that I close the dish washer slowly preventing the tablet from falling.
    3. Now there is no question of the large plate in front side of basket preventing from detergent compartment lead from opening.
Scenario 2. Obstruction to steam inlet.
    1. In case you keep the large plate on your left hand side of basket, it may come in way of the steam inlet.
    2. I haven’t had my plates completely obstructing the steam inlet. I have neither had any impact on the heating process.
    3. But in rare cases may be this steam inlet on left hand dish washer wall may get obstructed.
    * Plastic not compatible with dish washer can change its shape as all utencils are washed in very hot water (70 digree centigrade). Go for steel utencils or glass utencils.
    * Do not go for glass objects like wine glass which have narrow and weak stem. This weak stem might break inside in case the wine glass were to topple over with water pressure. Cleaning that mess will be certainly challenging. I saw this in a youtube video.
    * The dish washer does not dry up the utencils entirely like other larger models would. I guess for a table top model it is kind of ok in this drying aspect. Do not expect perfection here.
    * But your steel cups which at times have water trapped between those 2 layers will be benefited for sure. all that trapped water evapourates away.
    * things like cutting pad, tea strainer get cleaned far better than any human would clean them up. Water reaches all corners and crevices.
    * Intensive, normal and eco modes are good at washing milk vessels and kadhais. After wash, in case stains were to nasty, a very light hand scrubbing may be needed.
    * As the size of dish washer is small, I have almost always needed 2 wash cycles per day to have all my daily utencils washed.

    Running costs:
    * In Pune in my locality, as on date I’m writing this review, expence for domestic made to wash utencils is 25 rupees per day. Which is kind of 800 rupees per month.
    * Finish Powerball Classic tablets which seem to be the reasonable of all other Finish tablets, especially when baught in large quantities, cost you 12.8 rupees per tablet. Buy packet of 110 tablets which would cost around 1400 rupees. One wash can easily be done using only half of this tablet. With 2 washes per day, you will have cost of 12.8 rupees per day.
    * With dish washer, expect your monthly electricity bill to jump up by 300 to 500 rupees per month. This means per day cost could be between 10 to 15 rupees.
    * On-going costs overall could be 27-28 rupees per day which is 840 rupees per month.
    * I expect this 20k dish washer to be with me for next 10 years. I know I’m optimistic here. But my cost is then 2k per year which is around 165 rupees per month.
    * Add this cost to 840 rupees and we are getting to around 1k per month running expense.
    * I consider this higher price to be the price I pay for consistancy in wash quality. This is far better than domestic help who has fluctuating quality performance. All this is also less stressful because you don’t have to put your head at monitoring domestic help’s performance and continuously instructing her time and again.

    Error Codes:
    * I have not encountered any error so far. But these are early days. I’ll get back with details when I get those errors.
    * But I did observe some of the question and answers and reviews making mention of e3, e4 and e1 errors.
    * First of all, I got the installation done of dish washer on my own by arranging for plumber and electrician. The installation guy turned up on 5th day. He did not do the installation as it was already done. I still called him over to get few queries answered. But this guy helped me in understanding what those error codes are. Luckily, this installation guy was having experience of installing 60-70 units of the same dish washer.
    * E3 error occurs when heater faces issues. At installation time, check whether your earthing is working right. Any electrical fault would affect electrical components within dish washer. This is true for any dish washer.
    * Clean your dish washer once in month. This prevents salts from gathering around metal surface inside the dish washer including the door frame. When door frame will have salt deposites, there could be possible leakages of water. Using vinegar in one empty washing cycle immediately followed by use of baking soda in another empty washing cycle will help keep the dish washer clean from inside. Cleaning dish washer will prevent errors like e4 or e1 which indicate blockage in outlet.
    * please keep the filter at bottom of dish washer also clean to avoid above errors.

I have an open kitchen and dislike a huge pile up of dishes exposed next to the sink. Wanted a dishwasher for two people, small enough to use without having to wait for the whole day/s to fill the unit. Something that would also take the load off washing after a small party and ofcourse, something that is compact enough to fit under a counter. This has a pump so there is flexibility in how you lay the outlet hose. The inlet hose was too short, and I see many people complaining of this. It means one has to purchase another from the market, which is an irritant because it delays a smooth installation of the machine. I have only just started using it and have one critical observation regarding placement of large dinner plates. The tray guides are not angled enough to stop the plates from touching the upper rotating spray arm which is placed just under the top basket. The norm is to place the plates face up and slightly smaller dinner plates clear this but not the large ones. The best placement for large plates in this model is on the lower-rear-left quarter of the basket and the trick is to slightly hand-bend the separator rods to a steeper angle, so that the plates when placed, just miss the spray arm. Only thing, its not an 8-place unit anymore but a 7-place unit when using a high density plate stacking, as the last plate interferes with the wall of the dishwasher. A little experimenting is good and you get the hang of it. I also think it’s clever the way they put in two trays for cutlery, it holds quite a lot. Drying is decent though occasional water drops can be seen on some utensils, not something that a quick wipe can’t handle. Again this is something that can be solved if utensils are placed at an angle to allow better water run-off. Thank you Voltas-Beko, for bringing this unique small form into the country. Most legacy appliance manufacturers simply keep pushing their large 12 and 15 place setting dishwashers at us despite a growing demography requiring something more compact.
