I bought this device year back and it was working fine for 6 months, then the issues started.
It won’t charge properly, the display font size suddenly became big, nothing is visible at all.
When I contacted Amazon Customer support, initially they pointed me to Garmin service but when contacted them, response was worst.
Amazon customer service spoke to me for few week and assured me help, but they did not. Even Amazon stopped responding to my mails now.
Never expected this one from Amazon. Wasted my 12K.

The product is so bad the display is getting corrupted and the product become not usable state, the worst product in the market without any quality. Total money is waste, with in 5 months product got damaged

After 2-3 months the display starts flickering and within a day it’s gone. After contacting the service centre, they sent me a new piece which ended up in the same way within a month. It’s a manufacturing defect. Don’t buy it is all I advice.
Amazon Customer –
The tracker was tracking very well. It was giving almost equivalent data w.r.t. Fitbit zip which my wife has.
But the top of the display became blur within 3 days of usage. Returned it the very next day.
Amazon was quick to issue refund.
Very impressed with Amazon service, disappointed with the product.

DO NOT BUY GARMIN VIVOSMART. This is NOT a good product. The display started fading within six months of purchase. Repairs in India is not possible for items purchased online. They told me to send to Taiwan for repairs. But no courier company is willing to accept the consignment because the product has a battery. There is some new regulation related to electronic stuff that have batteries in them. I would recommend no one to buy this product as this is extremely substandard. You will repent if you buy this product like I am repenting right now as I am stuck with this device that does not work properly.

After the reviews, and lots of analysis i decided to bought the Vivosmart. Its great, the Connect App for Android it’s amazing. There is lots of data collected and you can view your runs, cycling, steps and you sleeping pattern easily on you mobile. It is very comfortable to wear, and i really like its simple design and the way it does not attract people’s attention. The battery runs for 6 to 7 days easily. Bluetooth sometimes takes a bit longer to connect, but Ant+ devices like my generic heart rate monitor strap and my bicycle’s speed+cadence sensor are a no brain to use. I use it on my soccer practices, running and cycling a lot. The data seems very accurate compared to my bicycle’s GPS data. Overall i think it’s a great buy.

I have previously owned a fitness tracker but gave up on it due to software bugs. I have friends who had purchased the Garmin and I was impressed with what they told me about it.
So far I haven’t found anything that disappoints with my new tracker. True, it was much more expensive than my previous tracker, but what is the point of owning one of these unless it does the basics correctly? Like most gadgets, I guess the cost of the Garmin will come down in the future, making it an excellent (rather than just a good) buy.
The tracker itself is a comfortable fit – I chose the “Small” version since I don’t have chunky wrists – and you don’t notice that you are wearing it. There are plenty of personalizing options and the buzz you get when you achieve your daily goal is great 🙂 The notifications function that links up to a mobile phone is a neat bonus.
I bought my partner one of these as well and now we have a friendly competition, “racing” one another to our own personalized targets.
If you want a toy, go for a cheaper option. If you want a serious bit of kit, go for the Garmin.
UPDATE JULY 2016
===============
Both of the units bought barely a year ago have suffered from dead pixels on the display making them hard to read. One of the unit’s wristband starting disintegrating about a month ago and has now ripped apart making the unit unusable.
I like the ‘phone app, it gives you plenty of information, but updates are continually altering the displays and screen flows so every couple of months you have to work out afresh how and where the information is displayed.
While they’re working, these are good activity monitors. Unfortunately, reliability seems to be a major issue so I’m downgrading my initial rating. I’ll be looking elsewhere for a replacement.
